Men In Trees

Oct
3

I don’t think that guy in the tree fell down, but I haven’t been back to check.

They were cutting a right-of-way for an electric line to be run up the hill to our house site. Luckily, the right-of-way could be cut so that it didn’t come up in front of the site and interfere with the woods surrounding the house. The line will be brought over underground from the location where it comes up to the top of the hill. In the meantime, it’s still hard seeing pretty trees chopped down. One included a beautiful old cherry tree.

In other news, football and volleyball are still going on. My book still isn’t finished. And October is looking pretty full here! What about you? (And it’s hot here, too! Supposed to be as high as 90 this week! What is up with that???)

And in other Other news, a recent check of my site referrals shows that among numerous bizarre google searches that bring people to my site, the most bizarre might be the search string children cleaning. I just want to state for the record that if you came to my site to find out about children cleaning, you have come to the wrong place. In fact, I don’t even understand those two words put together in the same sentence….. Now, I can tell you about children not cleaning. What do you want to know?

Poor cherry tree! If we could understand trees, I’m sure they’d have a lot of wisdom to impart, especially the “Elders.”

I used to love to keep the barn clean. No problem mucking out stalls. But housecleaning? Bleh. What am I saying? I’d still prefer to muck out stalls than clean inside my house!

Are you sure they weren’t trying to figure out how to clean children? Just a thought. :fryingpan:

Haha on the children cleaning. I get lots of referrals from a google search on “naked bottoms.”

Melissa, I don’t even want to know about that search result.

LOL on the children cleaning. And, yeah, it’s always sad to see the trees come down.

Children cleaning? You mean they exist? Because mine sure don’t!

Hope you’re having a good day!

My mom was/is a cleaning fanatic so I’m afraid I’m the opposite. I had no problem just closing my kids doors but I do wish they had at least picked up after themselves a little more lol.

LOL re the “children cleaning”! My weirdest this month, so far, are “rita mae browen paper clips” (I have no clue who this even is or why she has paper clips), “billy ray cyrus shirtless” (uh, no thanks, not something I care to see) and “mother eats peas for baskin robbins offensive” (what the HECk does this mean?!).

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
