I don’t think that guy in the tree fell down, but I haven’t been back to check.
They were cutting a right-of-way for an electric line to be run up the hill to our house site. Luckily, the right-of-way could be cut so that it didn’t come up in front of the site and interfere with the woods surrounding the house. The line will be brought over underground from the location where it comes up to the top of the hill. In the meantime, it’s still hard seeing pretty trees chopped down. One included a beautiful old cherry tree.
In other news, football and volleyball are still going on. My book still isn’t finished. And October is looking pretty full here! What about you? (And it’s hot here, too! Supposed to be as high as 90 this week! What is up with that???)
And in other Other news, a recent check of my site referrals shows that among numerous bizarre google searches that bring people to my site, the most bizarre might be the search string children cleaning. I just want to state for the record that if you came to my site to find out about children cleaning, you have come to the wrong place. In fact, I don’t even understand those two words put together in the same sentence….. Now, I can tell you about children not cleaning. What do you want to know?

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

I used to love to keep the barn clean. No problem mucking out stalls. But housecleaning? Bleh. What am I saying? I’d still prefer to muck out stalls than clean inside my house!

LOL on the children cleaning. And, yeah, it’s always sad to see the trees come down.
