"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

This just personified the joys of a farm….I am also very impressed by all the green. We are in a very bad drought here.

Suzanne, I have been a follower since you first starting bloging, I was sent to your site when I was looking for something that had to do with WV. If I remember correctly Ross was just about 14. It is amazing how far you have come, especially this past year, you are to be commended, it shows what hard work and sacrifice can accomplish.
Very nice video, I love all of the animals and aslo like the sound of a slamming screen door.

Weather has eaten the corners off my wooden screen door, I’ve had to put a plexglas shield over part of the screen to limit dog-paw damage but with all the work, I still luv my wooden screen door. Yes, even when the wind slams it shut! Gosh I just realized my building is 114 years old! {stray thought}
