And So It Begins

Meeting up with best friends last night– (L-R) Golden Heart finalist Jena Awtrey-Brown, me, Kacey Pickens, and Harlequin Historicals author Michelle Willingham.

I’m here! :sheepjump:

Wow, it looks like we must have been drinking. But it’s all work here at RWA. Work, work, work.

In fact, I’ve got to go find a latte right now…

Me with Harlequin SuperRomance author Amy Knupp (left). I didn’t walk in the door of the hotel before I ran into one group after another of old friends. I get, and give, more hugs in one week at RWA than I probably do in total for the whole rest of the year. Writers are a fabulous bunch. Tonight’s the gigantic charity booksigning. I’ll be back tomorrow with lots more pictures!

The pictures are great – I go to a couple of those author’s blogs so it’s nice to see what everyone looks like. Have fun.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
