They’re out.
IMG_5658
It’s been a battle of wills and fencing lately.

Nutmeg is the most persistent.
IMG_6121
She knows what she wants and she doesn’t let anything stand in her way. Particularly welded wire.
IMG_6176
She’s really just a wee thing.
IMG_6170
Not much bigger than a medium-sized dog.

Boomer’s not sure what to make of her when she comes to the porch. Maybe she wants to play?
IMG_6182
He doesn’t understand this head-butting game she likes.
IMG_6157
Maybe Nutmeg would like to wrestle?
IMG_6189
Please?
IMG_6191
Silly dog.

You know she came up here to POOP.
IMG_6152
Nutmeg: “I’ll trade ya for some cookies.”
IMG_6180
Boomer: “I was gonna take a nap there.”
IMG_6195
Don’t worry, Boom Boom. I’ve got this whole thing under control.

Or not…….

HeHeHe….Nutmeg was so jealous when Annabelle hung out on the porch, she had to try it!

  2. Box Call says:

The porch is better playground than the hood and roof of the car.

  3. Lynda Dunham-Watkins says:

They really are cute!! Spoiled, but cute, and it’s fun watching you enjoy them.

  4. Cyndi Lewis says:

Better your porch than the neighbors! 😀

  5. Diane says:

At least they do not go for a walk down the road. lol. Nutmeg is really small. Funny to see her next to Boomer who also is not that big.

  6. Phyllis Ryan says:

What a fun household you are running. Now if you could just get Yahoo to stop trying to keep me away each day life would be so perfect. I laugh and cry at your posts and enjoy the news letter. Gives me a chance to revist the posts I enjoyed the first time around.

  7. Claudia W. says:

She just wants to be near you! (and the cookies!)

  8. Kate says:

My friend had a poop slide for his goats made from roofing tin
a piece of wood and a couple of old tires. They loved hearing the poop clatter onto the slide and the bucket at the end made collecting
the goodies for the garden a breeze. His goats stood in line for turns to poop down the slide. It was hilarious. Maybe 52 could rig one up for Nutmeg.

  9. Wheezay says:

So darn cute.. thank you ! :sun:

  10. Linda Stubbs says:

I love your blog and pictures. Beautiful. I will be coming back!!!!!!!!! I was just surfing and found you. I treat myself to that every morning. Glad I came across you. I will be back.

  11. monica says:

When Little n. asks what ‘turtle beans’ are, I will not show him this post! He likes turtle beans because he thinks they are named because they look like turtle food, not from the other end. I swear: YES my boy thinks that he is a turtle.

  12. Christine says:

I wondered if you were able to keep them in with that type of fencing. I’ve read that with goats you have to have something with smaller holes in it and practically bury the stuff a foot to keep them from getting out.

Sure make cute porch ornaments though. (Nutmeg not the poop.)

  13. Christy O says:

I use poultry netting to keep mine in. It doesn’t always work, but mostly. I do have one escape artist. He now climbs the gate and jumps over it. The gate is covered with poultry netting.

  14. Gail says:

What a sweet, thoughful little goat Nutmeg is! She is just trying to save you from having to go down the stairs to the goat yard to give them cookies. She came up for them! And, she says she will take the cookies for the others down, also. (In her rumen!) Now isn’t that just a thoughtful goat?

Suzanne, how long does it take you each day to feed all the critters?

  15. Lisa Richards says:

    Love your blog!

We use cattle paneling to keep our goats in. Of course, it only works well with BIG goats!

  16. Estella says:

I think you need to use wire with smaller holes—like horse wire.

  17. SarahKoski says:

Nutmeg reminds me of the kind of cat that wants to stand in the open doorway and think about whether it wants to be outside. She thinks she wants to be outside, but when she does find herself outside, she wants back in. Right now. Nevermind she’ll want back out in a few minutes. Or it could all be a ploy to get cookies.

  18. Bev says:

How funny….sweet freedom…and she comes up to the porch… 😆

  19. Phyllis Ryan says:

    RE” the news letter.
How could you. You knew I was a puzzle nut. And yet you printed a link to send me into a wold of puzzles from which I cannot escape. Please help me, I can’t help myself. It is now on my favorites and I may never get back. Not til I do them all. Ah…………….

  20. SuzieQ says:

I love the puzzle link of your critters. I had made a bunch with my dogs a few years ago and it’s really fun, especially if you change the cut to the REALLY hard ones. Great time waster. :woof:

  21. Alittlediddy says:

Ha! Too cute. We once had a pygmy goat (wedding gift). We lived on a 110 acre farm then & our goat & black lab would play the head- butt game for hours. Gotta love animals! D

  22. TracyV says:

I love the little dog. He must be a rat terrier mix? I have had Jack Russels and I love those little dogs!!! Mine is 16 years old and hardly gets around at all. Yours is what I live to see…cause mine doesn’t even go for walks now. I can’t get another until he is gone because I know those liite spunky guys would hurt him unknowingly. I live the goats and dog pictures!!!
