Tillie Lays An Egg Giveaway!

Oct
29

People are always telling me I should write a children’s book. I’m not that together, but Terry Golson is! Terry Golson is a professional cook and food writer. I’ve had her Farmstead Egg Cookbook for a long time–see it gracing my kitchen window in this post from 2008. She makes the most adorable books! She’s also something of a “chicken celebrity” because of her popular HenCam. (She has a GoatCam, too!)

I didn’t know all that. I just had her cute little egg cookbook. Then one day Martha Stewart was doing an episode on chickens and I saw her on there talking about her Tillie Lays An Egg book. AND THEN. The other day, someone asked a question about chickens, and Terry–who knows a lot more about chickens than I do–left a comment on my blog! IT WAS ALMOST LIKE MARTHA WAS HERE. Anyway! That was a gigantic mistake because, of course, I pounced right on top of her, tied her up, and locked her in a closet until she agreed to give away a copy of Tillie Lays An Egg to one of you! (“Unlike the other hens at Little Pond Farm, Tillie isn’t one to wait her turn to lay her eggs. And she’s certainly not one to stay cooped up all day. Off she goes!”) Okay, honestly, I just begged a little bit, and she was nice enough to agree. (I’m so excited!)

If you’d like to be in the draw for Terry Golson’s children’s book, Tillie Lays An Egg, just leave a comment on this post letting me know you want it! This giveaway will remain open through Sunday, October 31, at 5 p.m. U.S. Eastern time. One winner will be drawn by random comment number to receive the book. The winner’s name and comment number will be posted shortly thereafter in an update at the bottom of this post. Return to this post to see if you won and claim your book.

You can read all the details and a book summary about Tillie Lays An Egg here. Be sure to also visit Terry’s HenBlog and Facebook. She even has ringtones available of her animals. (Can you believe that? I told you she was together!)

P.S. If you aren’t the lucky comment number drawn to win the book here, you can still buy it.

Okay, should I untie her now?

UPDATE 10/31/10: The winning comment number, drawn by random.org, is #98, heidiannie. Email me at CITRgiveaways(at)yahoo.com with your full name and address for shipping!

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED TO ENTRY.

I would like to have a chance to get a copy of tillie lays an egg. :hissyfit: My grandchildren have been begging me to write a childrens book. LOve your site and I am thankful to you for changing our lives.I started reading your blog years ago and started my own managery. :sheepjump: :chicken: Since reading, watching you carve out homespun life, with a spoonfuls of food delights, a dose of humor all the while wrapped in soft cuddles to heal the soul. Thanks for bringing me back ful circle to a more peaceful, slower, old fashioned way of living. Where less is more, simple is golden. :fairy: My very sick grandson (31+ food catagory, preservatives allgeries=very little he can eat.) has just learned to read. This would be a true heavensent cherrished cache to him, as his favorite thing to do is collect the daily eggs. He has been sick since 1 year old, now he is eight. The fresh air and farm activities have helped him so much since spring. But tonight is sick again and headed back to specialist at first of week. His Favorite book– old Henny Penny book from the 60’s I have enjoyed how you involved a captive audience in the naming of animals. Also giving each of us the red carpet treatment into your written treasures. Thanks and good luck to all. Margie from brie turkey in the blackberry patch Virginia
