No Wonder She Was In a Bad Mood

The vet arrived to see my beautiful Glory Bee yesterday afternoon with a vet tech in training.

She was just here to watch. And who doesn’t want to watch? It’s so exciting!

Look how the man actually looks happy to be sticking his arm inside my cow.

And he said, “Oh, there’s a BIG calf in there!”

Yay!!!

I’d gotten worried she wasn’t bred because she was bawling a few weeks ago, like she could be in heat. I had to know for sure! The vet said she was four to five months along, and to start watching her in late February–but probably it will be a March baby. Which is perfect! Just what I was planning when I timed the bull here.

And no wonder Glory Bee was starting to get in a bad mood a few weeks ago. Pregnant all this time, and nobody was giving her any pickles!!!

Get that girl some pickles. Glad that BP is still around too. I’ve been wondering how she was doing.

  6. Jan Hodges says:

Glad she is bred! I’m going through the implant and other hormone route with a couple of my goats. Sometimes it’s a big deal. That vet sure is dressed up to be fishing around inside a cow.

Cracks me up that he wore a suit to do this! :cowsleep: Congrats on the impending baby. If it’s a girl, will she be a milk cow like her momma?

    Congrats! :moo:
Wow, if the vets I worked with had looked like that, I might have stuck with vet teching a little longer! 😆
Tea Duchess–I thought he was wearing a suit, too, until I looked a little closer. He’s wearing coveralls. The white collar and cuff make him look rather formal!

The vet is in a suit? Never seen that before. Congratulations about the calf!!!! So exciting!

Give that lady a pickle—lots of pickles and anything else she wants!!

It’s nice feeling to know your cow is bred when you have a bull. It’s double nice when you have to borrow a bull. Congratulations!!! :moo:
