The goats, sheep, and Coco are OUT! They had been stalled (separately) in the barn for a week while they settled in and I had some minor modifications prepared (wire on the field gate to keep the sly devils from slipping between the bars on the gate).
I still have one working dog and one lazy dog, by the way.
Everyone was glad to see sun and green grass and room to run. I’ll have more details on the new goat yard soon, as well as tours of all the pastures, the barn, the cellar, the studio, and the house. (Starting with the first part of the house tour on Monday.) I have a lot to show you!
Out of the Barn!

Well, Casper deserves a good rest after helping you move! Loved the pic of him carrying “something” in his mouth on the moving day photos.
The animals must LOVE all the space and green grass and flat pasture land.
Looking forward to more pictures!
Happy days ahead for you!

It’s good to “hear” the happiness and excitement in your “voice” though I’ll bet you’ve been working on hard, getting settled in.

Well, mud happens on a farm and I just can’t be convinced that there isn’t any mud waiting to show up at Sassafras Farm! It’s bound to have its share. No farmer can expect that there won’t be mud, or trouble either, though we do hope that most things will be much easier for Suzanne to deal with! This is a new chapter for her, and a wonderful one at that, but there are many wonderful things about Stringtown Rising Farm too and each chapter must be built upon the shoulders of the last one. :chicken:

Suzanne,
Although I don’t often comment I have been a regular reader of your blog for a year or so. I just wanted to tell you that I’m so proud of you. I’m sure that your recent journey has been difficult but it looks like you’ve made some hard decisions and your future looks soooo bright. I think that all things happen for a reason even if we don’t understand them at the time. I wish you the absolute best and many happy years in your new beautiful farm. Hugs to you.
