Boomer’s Magnificent Find

May
21

Boomer’s trying to keep his great discovery under wraps as much as possible. There are, after all, other dogs in the vicinity and he doesn’t want his magnificent find to fall victim to any skullduggery. The prize is HIS! He’s an adventurer, a finder of new worlds, a seeker of lost treasures. He’s Boomer Columbus! Indiana Boomer! Boomer Polo!

He’s quite proud and possessive of his intrepid recovery of this fine item. And if you have a sensitive constitution, you might want to save yourself now.

Like, right now.

Before he takes his great treasure out from underneath himself and starts admiring it again.

I’ll give you one guess what this is.

Not only is it entertaining, it’s quite delicious.

But you better not even think about touching it.

It belongs to Boomer.

Excuse me…. I meant BOOMER POLO!!!

He can already see his image immortalized in a marble bust in a museum! People will point and whisper, “What a dog he was.”

Little dog, big dreams.

I knew it! I knew it! Boomer has learned the Tale of the Lamb’s Tail from the Giant Puppy!!! Professor Coco!!!

  2. Kathy in KY says:

LOL – Suzanne, when I saw the title of today’s post, I thought, Boy this is gonna be GOOD! And it IS! Is that a lamb’s tail? Did you dock your lambs? What a great find! The pup better be careful not to get too close to that wonderful gem of a find. Good post today, thanks for giving me a laugh this early morning before I go to bed. :happypuppy:

  3. Jyl says:

Boomer, do you hear lambs cry in your dreams?

  4. Runningtrails says:

He is so adorable! He found a lamb’s tail! Good for him, a real treasure for a dog, to be sure!

My cat has started bringing in the greatest treasures too. Mice, big and small, laying in the hall almost daily. After showing them to us, he eats the tiny ones right there in front of us. (We don’t watch.)

    Aren’t farm pets great!

  5. Box Call says:

Great story about your explorer/adventurer. A lamb’s tail beats hauling in a piece of dead deer.

  6. Diane says:

oh my Boomer is quite please with himself is’nt he. Those lamb tails must be tasty if the dogs are finding them and chewing on them. Its kind of gross. lol.

  7. CindyP says:

๐Ÿ˜† I could only imagine what that find was! ๐Ÿ˜† It’s not as bad as it could have been! And if you’re going to dream, dream BIG, Boomer :woof:

  8. julie says:

I was expecting a deer part or some other type of beastie part. When I saw the black fur, I thought it was a skunk. We had a dog that loved skunks – we joked it was her “perfume”.

  9. Ang. says:

Nummmy! Too bad he doesn’t have any hoof trimmings to go with that tail! It would be a virtual gourmet meal. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. monica says:

Well, even Boomer needs to have fiber in his diet. Just make sure that it comes back out.

  11. KentuckyFarmGirl says:

Yep a true treasure! Go Boomer!

  12. marymac says:

I thought it was a squirrel tail… lol

  13. Jenny says:

Boomer is my favorite! Mr. Personality! :snoopy:

  14. Blue says:

Such a fantastic (and hilarious) series there – Boomer is sooo proud!

  15. Susan at Charm of the Carolines says:

I love the way he is lying on the front porch, with his little legs spread out behind him. What a cutey!

    Susan

  16. Carol says:

That Boomer is so cute I can ALMOST forgive him for chewing on that tail. Yuck.

  17. Barbee' says:

Where does he find them?! Do you bury them, then he digs it up (after ripening, of course), or are they just tossed out in the woods where it’s easy takings? Pee-you!! Funny little Boomer.

  18. Ruth C says:

I knew it would be a lamb’s tail… But there are four of them somewhere, right? More than enough to go around! Maybe Coco already snapped them up.

  19. Shelly says:

How sweet! Someone should package all the tails in the state and sell them as dog toys! :hungry:

  20. trish robichaud says:

way to go boomer! it even comes with its own dental floss :hungry:

  21. HokieArtist says:

LOL… that is so funny. My black lab found one of our lambs tails and brought it up on the porch. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one. ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. Miss Becky says:

WAY TO GO BOOMER! :woof: He is so adorable. Please, may he come live with me???

  23. Ruth says:

  24. catslady says:

Isn’t it amazing the things people can get use to lol. My ferals always leave me little gifties (outside thank goodness) but I learned to not bother myself having to get rid of them – if I wait a day petey possum or rocky raccoon takes care of it for me lol.

  25. Cousin Sheryl says:

I love the photo where Boomer is snarling at Caspar – “Do No Touch my lamb’s tail,” he says. Pets are soooo funny and they each have their individual personalities.

    LOL

  26. sahmcolorado says:

As an in-town girl who never lived on a farm, I say “yuck”, but as a dog lover I say “good for you, Boomer!” My dogs would love to find something that yucky!

  27. Shirley Corwin says:

What a find Boomer!!! You better sleep with it underneath yourself; those other guys know you have it now!!!!

  28. Jo says:

What a delightful tail! Oops….I meant tale! ๐Ÿ˜†

  29. Senta Sandberg says:

I love scrappy little dog that are all “tude”

  30. Holly says:

great blog. When I lived on Martha’s Vineyard, the dogs always showed up with fish heads thrown off the commercial boats. More stinky than lambs tail.

  31. lavenderblue says:

Jester better keep her heiny covered! NOM,NOM,NOM!

  32. SuzieQ says:
