This little fainting goat buckling will be joining our farm to be the groom of Sprite and Fanta and the sire to (hopefully) many little bottle caps of his own. In keeping with our soda pop theme, choose your favorite–because I can’t. (I need help!)

Mountain Dew, but call him Dew.

  2. Leah says:

 We’ll love him no matter what you name him! πŸ™‚ I’m always in a good mood when I visit here.

  3. Nancy says:

    Hi Suzanne,

Just read the comments section from yesterday’s posting. I’m sorry you’re not writing romances any longer, but I understand the need to change direction.

The romance industry and readers will miss your great books.

    Nancy

  4. Karen says:

Omigosh, he’s cute. Good luck with your new addition to the menagerie!

  5. Debby Edwards says:

I love your blog – you make me laugh or go ahh just about everyday. I think Nehi is a great name because if you look at his legs the color appears to change at knee high! Come on everybody and get your friends to vote for Susan – she is within striking distance and could overtake the top vote if we work together! Good luck, Susan.

  6. Chic says:

I did my duty…I voted for your Blog and then voted for your little goats name. I think he looks like a root beer float but I really liked the name Mountain Dew (thinking of where you live) only using Dewey as his every day name. The girls are sure to fall in love with him…he’s adorable! Hope you have a wonderful day! :hungry2:

  7. MissWiniW says:

Don’t know what Mr. Pibb is so I voted Dr. Pepper. I think “Dr. Pibb” should be an option!

    • Karen says:

Mr. Pibb is similar to Dr. Pepper. I think it’s only available regionally.

It would depend on whether the little guy turns out to be a PIB or not! (Pain in Butt, if you didn’t know!)

  8. Beth C says:

Oh, yes – I’m with the Mr. Pibb group

  9. Annie says:

I voted Root Beer, but would have voted Squirt if it had been an option!

  10. monica says:

What an honor: Having a vote in what to name the next critter! I voted Crush because he looks like a Crush!

They will have cute little bottle caps! :fairy: :snoopy:

  11. jason says:

Went with Mt. Dew too b/c you live on a farm in the mts…its fitting.

  12. Sharee says:

Your currently in 5th place!! Making the huge jump!! Go girl Go! Also you have inspired me to decorate with free fall items! My house is wonderful and cheery and full of nature! Even my husband commented on how neat it was! ( he hardly speaks so this was BIG!)
Thanks for making our days wonderful, wonderful WONDERFUL!

  13. Ms E says:

You will have quite the list of names for future “little bottle caps”!

  14. .Nancy in Iowa says:

I went for Mug because I’m sure he’ll mug for your camera! What a little love!

  15. .Nancy in Iowa says:

BTW, not only am I voting for you every day, but my calendar arrived yesterday! I love it – even the month with Coco acting, ahem, out of line? :butterfly: :snoopy:

  16. Diane says:

Hi Suzanne ~ I read every day and enjoy your blog so much, but never commented. I did sign up for the newsletter though πŸ™‚

I voted for Dr. Pepper (Pepper for short), but I like some of the other ideas that said Mountain Dew and call him Dewey. Actually my first thought was “BOTTLE CAP”! LOL

  17. Vera says:

Couldn’t decide on a name for the little bottle cap but I voted for you again today….

  18. Christina says:

Just voted for both. Good luck!!

  19. Barbee' says:

I like the nickname Dewey, also, I will vote for Mt.Dew.

  20. Rachel says:

I am a new reader, but I have to admit, when I saw your previous post, with the goats and their names, I wondered why there wasn’t a Nehi. Admittedly, that sounds like a biblical prophet’s name, but I’d much prefer that to “Crush” (goodness knows, I’d not want him to live up to *that* name!!!).

  21. Jennifer S. says:

I’m A Mr. Pibb, too, but almost voted for Root Beer, because he looks like a root beer float with that white spot! Can you believe your numbers in the poll??? We love you and wish you the best!

  22. Estella says:

    He is so cute!

  23. Brenda S 'Okie in Colorado' says:

I still like my idea of “Yoo Hoo” best for a bottle cap name. LOL
After looking at the little guy with the white streak, it reminded me of a latte with foam. For a non bottle cap name I would probably name him “Starbucks”

  24. Catalina says:

I hope you name one of the future babies Shasta!
BTW I voted for Mr. Pibb. So cute!

  25. Kathleen in Michigan says:

    I love Nehi

  26. Angie says:

πŸ˜€ SUzanne you left out Sun Drop!!! It is a drink available in NC and maybe a few other places but it is the nectar of the gods and I am hopelessly addicted to it and thats what you should name the new baby. Just my opinion. πŸ˜€

  27. Tybois says:

He is such a cute little thing πŸ™‚ I just want to stick him in my back yard. πŸ˜€

  28. Yvonne says:

NEHI. It just fits! (He’s “knee-hi” to darn near every thing!) I love him! (I also used to absolutely love Nehi soft drinks, hard to find any more.)

  29. Jennifer says:

I think he looks like a Yoohoo – a yummy little chocolately Yoohoo

  30. pam says:

I voted for Mountain Dew, but I think Yoo Hoo would be good!

  31. Mama Pea says:

I voted to name him “Root Beer” . . . no good reason . . . it just seemed right.

On another note, I admire you so much for so many reasons. Often, women who aren’t “out there” in the world, holding down an “important” job aren’t given any credit at all. But what you do on an on-going day to day basis is what I think meaningful living is all about. Your kids are growing up in such a better way because of the stability, security and foundation you’re providing for them at home. Being self-sufficient in whatever way we can is so, so vitally crucial in this day and age of lack of personal responsibility and relying on everyone else for even our basic needs.

If only there were some way to reward (monetarily would sure make our lives easier!) stay at home mom’s and homemakers. Lack of home life is going to be the downfall of our civilization if we don’t manage to turn things around before it’s too late.

I can’t pay you for what you’re doing, but remember that there are those of us out here that have your same beliefs and hold your same values. I, for one, send support and encouragement for the way you’ve chosen to live your life.

Keep blogging . . . it helps us all immeasurably.

  32. SuzieQ says:

Nehi, because he’s only going to be “knee high”.. :jackolantern:

  33. Cindy says:

He’s adorable! And I love your soda pop theme! πŸ™‚

  34. Michele Mom of 8 says:

I voted for Dr. Pepper, because you want him to be “The Love Doctor.” Nickname him “Doc.”

    Good luck!

  35. Patricia says:

Yes, I like Mountain Dew for the same reason – you can call him Dew for short, like how Loretta Lynn referred to her husband.

  36. Karen says:

Now the baby can roam around the farm saying, “They call me MR. Pibb.”

    Sorry, couldn’t resist!

  37. Oklahoma Granny says:

I may be too late but I vote for Dr Pepper – it’s “the friendly pepper-upper that never, ever lets you down”.
