Maia, on display in front of Books-a-Million in a busy shopping center in Charleston.
To say she attracted attention decked out in pink harness and tutu with necklaces and headband with streamers would be an understatement. She literally stopped traffic as cars drove by and came to a halt to gawk, not to mention the foot traffic interest in front of the store.
Adults loved her just as much as little children, and she was perfectly behaved. Thank you to forum moderator Pete who was there to man the “goat station” outside the store!
Morgan came, and even signed books with me. All the photos in this post were taken by Jerry Waters, and he took some truly beautiful ones of my beautiful girl. (With boyfriend Justin in tow.)
A doctored photo in which Jerry makes fun of how much hair Morgan and I have:
And Jerry proves once again what a great friend he is by being seen with a goat in a tutu:
Thank you to those of you who came out! It was great to see you!
You can order Chickens in the Road: An Adventure in Ordinary Splendor now!

How fun. Wish I could have been there. The book is great, I finished it way too fast but that’s okay I will reread. Your daughter is beautiful, of course, just like her Mom. Congratulations again on a great book.

Jerry is an awesome friend and photographer, Maia is a precious girl, and Morgan is a beautiful young woman. Her mom is a pretty fantastic lady, too. Happy fall day! :snoopy:

Goat in a tutu: probably a more common sight in someplace like Austin, TX. Love the hair streamers.

:happyflower: LOVE the costume! I’m quite jealous, as my goats would have nibbled it to bits in a matter of minutes-esp. the streamers!

What a perfect costume for Maia, and what a star! I wish I could have been there. But it’s a little bit too far to drive for a day. Besides, I had to work. Maybe some other time.

I am so jealous, I would have loved to have come to your signing, but it would be at least a 5-6 hour drive one way, and my sense of direction is not good, it would probably take me 10-12 hours—-one way! It was nice that everyone had a good time. Thank you for the photos.

What a fun day you must have had. Mail looks pretty relaxed. I am thinking that she must have Clover coaching her from above. I’m very happy for you and all that you have accomplished.

My apologies for being so late in replying to this, internet was out for a bit and life got in the way. I am trying to catch up now.
Maia is absolutely stunning in her pink tutu and headband with streamers. I am so happy she behaved herself outside at the book signing. I wish you were coming to Philadelphia, because I would love to meet you and Maia of course.
Morgan is BEAUTIFUL! And I loved the Cousin Itt photo. Oh to have beautiful thick hair like that….ahhhhh you are so lucky (even if you don’t think you are)
Thank you for sharing your life with us. :moo:
