Finally! You get to meet Pocahontas! We went all the way to Ohio yesterday to get her. I’d tell you about the trip mile marker by mile marker, but I bet that’s not what you’re here for.
You want to see Pocahontas.
And here she is!
Wait. Wrong photo.
Here she is!
CLOVER! (Just between you and me, I think she’s a little jealous of all the attention Pocahontas has been getting lately.)
And now, Pocahontas!
Sheesh, you’d think I could take better photos than that.
Let me try again.
Pocahontas is six months old and almost as big as she’s going to get. She is a sweet, lovable, absolutely adorable….
….miniature donkey!
YOU KNOW I NEEDED ONE!
trish says:
Cute!!! Welcome Pocahontas! You will have a good life on this farm. What does one do with a miniature donkey????

Now you’ve got the donkey, you’ll need a minature pony/horse to keep her company (or is that vice versa). Anyway go you and your menagerie!
On June 8, 2009 at 3:46 am
Runningtrails says:
She sure is a cutie!! I don’t know about miniature donkeys but donkeys are good herd protectors and they will fight predators. She looks too sweet for that.
On June 8, 2009 at 4:03 am
CATRAY44 says:
Heard protector was my thought, too! The Giant White Puppy and Pocahontas, will make a formidable team, lol!
On June 8, 2009 at 4:26 am
Sheila Z says:
Oh yeah! Predator protection in the lower pasture with the sheep and the hogs. Pocahontas can keep the coyotes and stray dogs at bay. Everyone wants to eat lamb, easy to kill and tasty and delicious.

Love her!!!! So so cute and fits right in with your farm. I love the miniture horses and donkeys. They are one of my favorites to visit at the fair. We went to a miniture horse farm once and they taught their horses to do tricks. It was neat.
I know you will enjoy her. Now does she get to live on the porch for while with CoCo. lol.

I don’t feel very silly though, I was nicely entertained while I searched and tried to figure it out.
Your actual Pocahontas is very cute Suzanne! We’ll all watch for more pictures of her and how the other critters react to her… and she to them too! :sun:

Suzanne, the Farmer's Wife says:
Oh, stop it!!!! Seriously, now I’m wanting a miniature donkey. Have you ever seen the miniature steers? Really little. Perfect for you. ALSO, you really need a Babydoll Southdown sheep. Check out the photo.
Southdown Babydoll Sheep
I’m sure there’s a breeder somewhere near West Virginia.

On June 8, 2009 at 7:59 am
Karen says:
Adorable. But they are herd animals, so you will definitely need at least one more. Our next-door neighbors to our farm have seven, and they move around like a many-legged unit.
Be prepared for the braying, though. It sounds pretty eerie on an otherwise quiet night, to suddenly hear what sounds like an old woman moaning. Loudly.

Darlene says:
How adorable! In all this time of trying to guess a donkey never entered in the guessing game. Can’t wait to hear more π

Welcome Pokey! Now if she thought Clover has a hard head, she ain’t seen nuthin’ yet! π

OMG – I’m dying here in the apartment – no goats, no chickens, no giant puppy, no sheep, no piglet, NO MINI DONKEY!!! How sad my life is! I am so grateful to you for giving me a glimpse of what life SHOULD be like! I know Princess Morgan appreciates it, but do the boys realize how lucky they all are? Pocahontas is adorable. Will you dress her up? Have a fashion parade with Clover and Annabelle? Oh, you must be having so much fun along with all your work!
