Meet Pocahontas

Finally! You get to meet Pocahontas! We went all the way to Ohio yesterday to get her. I’d tell you about the trip mile marker by mile marker, but I bet that’s not what you’re here for.

You want to see Pocahontas.

And here she is!
Wait. Wrong photo.

Here she is!
CLOVER! (Just between you and me, I think she’s a little jealous of all the attention Pocahontas has been getting lately.)

And now, Pocahontas!
Sheesh, you’d think I could take better photos than that.

Let me try again.

Pocahontas is six months old and almost as big as she’s going to get. She is a sweet, lovable, absolutely adorable….
….miniature donkey!

  1. trish says:

Cute!!! Welcome Pocahontas! You will have a good life on this farm. What does one do with a miniature donkey????

  2. The Random Muse says:

    She’s adorable!

  3. Janet says:

You may not have needed one, but she sure is cute!

  4. beekudzu says:

Cute overload! And she’s lucky to come live with y’all, who can appreciate all that cute.

  5. Biddy says:

Now you’ve got the donkey, you’ll need a minature pony/horse to keep her company (or is that vice versa). Anyway go you and your menagerie!

  6. Runningtrails says:

She sure is a cutie!! I don’t know about miniature donkeys but donkeys are good herd protectors and they will fight predators. She looks too sweet for that.

  7. Sheila Z says:

Oh yeah! Predator protection in the lower pasture with the sheep and the hogs. Pocahontas can keep the coyotes and stray dogs at bay. Everyone wants to eat lamb, easy to kill and tasty and delicious.

  8. Box Call says:

    Lovely mohawk hairdo also.

  9. Jan says:

You don’t need ONE, you need TWO!

  10. Bev says:

OMG…we went to The LAnd of the Little Horses once and I fell in love with the tiny animals…they had (of course) horses, donkey, pigs…they were SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!

  11. Wheezay says:

    Awww…too cute !!

  12. Cyndi L. says:

A very sweet addition to your abode of happiness!

  13. trish says:

JEALOUS!!!!! i love mini donkeys. there is a farm that i pass everyday with some. we always point and scream “there they are. hi, i’m a miniature donkey!!!!” yeah i know, it doesn’t take much to entertain us.

  14. Anita says:

Other people NEED an IPhone or a bracelet from Tiffany’s. People like us NEED a miniature donkey!

  15. Diane says:

Love her!!!! So so cute and fits right in with your farm. I love the miniture horses and donkeys. They are one of my favorites to visit at the fair. We went to a miniture horse farm once and they taught their horses to do tricks. It was neat.

I know you will enjoy her. Now does she get to live on the porch for while with CoCo. lol.

  16. BuckeyeGirl says:

WOOOOOT! I was wrong! I was wrong! Everyone laugh at me now! LOL πŸ˜† LOL πŸ˜† LOL

I don’t feel very silly though, I was nicely entertained while I searched and tried to figure it out.

Your actual Pocahontas is very cute Suzanne! We’ll all watch for more pictures of her and how the other critters react to her… and she to them too! :sun:

  17. Suzanne, the Farmer's Wife says:

Oh, stop it!!!! Seriously, now I’m wanting a miniature donkey. Have you ever seen the miniature steers? Really little. Perfect for you. ALSO, you really need a Babydoll Southdown sheep. Check out the photo.

    Southdown Babydoll Sheep

I’m sure there’s a breeder somewhere near West Virginia.

    – Suzanne, the Other Suzanne

  18. Suzanne, the Farmer's Wife says:

Ooops, anyway, search Babydoll Southdown on a search engine and see what you think.

    – Suzanne, the Other Suzanne

  19. Mimi says:

Oh, how absolutely precious! Right now city living isn’t looking all that great…sigh.

  20. wildcat says:

Welcome to the farm, Pocahontas!

  21. Carol says:

Ack! I didn’t know they came in miniature form! I. Want. One. Sadly, I’m sure they’re not allowed in a subdivision in New Jersey.
I’m so glad you got a donkey! I can’t wait to hear more about her!

  22. Sandra says:

We can’t have all of those great little animals where most of us live but we can pretend we do…thanks to you for all of the sweet pictures and many tales and tails. It’s therapy for the day!

  23. Heidi533 says:

Oh I love her. She’s so cute and fuzzy. :o)

  24. Paula Prater says:

And Suzanne, I guessed that was what Pocohontas would be.. I love
them so much.. Yay for you and now I am sad I don’t have one.. I
hope too someday when we get done traveling..

  25. KentuckyFarmGirl says:

Awwwww, what a cutie-pie!!!! She is absolutely adorable and of course you needed her!

  26. Ronman says:

What a splendid addition to the far,! She is adorable.

  27. Ronman says:

    ” . . . farm!”, not “far”.

  28. Ms E says:

She is precious!! I still think you need a Highlander cow… πŸ™‚

  29. Remudamom says:

Start right now training that little sweetie. You’ll be going to market in a pony cart in no time.

  30. Linda says:

She is so cute. You are luck to have all those animals but I know they are alot of work too.

  31. Stacia says:

I want her!!! She is too cute. I’m so jealous of all your animals and your farm. Can I come live with you?

  32. Karen says:

Adorable. But they are herd animals, so you will definitely need at least one more. Our next-door neighbors to our farm have seven, and they move around like a many-legged unit.

Be prepared for the braying, though. It sounds pretty eerie on an otherwise quiet night, to suddenly hear what sounds like an old woman moaning. Loudly.

  33. Darlene says:

How adorable! In all this time of trying to guess a donkey never entered in the guessing game. Can’t wait to hear more πŸ™‚

  34. Jordan says:

She’s going to need a friend so she’s not lonely. *g*

  35. Judy Mitchell says:

I’m psychic! I said yesterday when I read the post, “I bet she’s going to get a jackass!” I just wasn’t thinkin’ *tiny* jackass! LOL! And uh…well, it’s a jenny instead of a jack. I was CLOSE!
Welcome Pokey! Now if she thought Clover has a hard head, she ain’t seen nuthin’ yet! πŸ™‚

  36. cgReno says:

Please let me come live at your house…. PULEEEEZZZEEEEE? I always wanted a burro, or a donkey or a Pocahontas whatever…..
    come on, Suzanne…..i do windows……

  37. Claudia W. says:

So cute!!! Congratulations on another adding wonderful member to your family! She’s adorable, and Morgan looks like Pocahontas is going to be her favorite!

  38. Gini says:

HAHA! Adorable! I already love her, just as I do the rest of your animals. πŸ™‚

  39. Tannis says:

We have 3 mini donkeys! They are a ton of fun. You should get her a playmate because that’s when the real fun happens. πŸ™‚

  40. SuzieQ says:

Is she sleeping on the porch yet? She is so cute and loveable..just want to hug her. :snuggle: :snuggle:

  41. Carol says:

:thud: – Carol passes out from the cuteness!

  42. Sharon says:

Ohio? Darn, wish I had to her before you. :hissyfit:
    She is adorable.

  43. Rachel says:

 How cute! Now will her coat always be long like that or will she eventually have a smoother shorter one?

  44. Nancy in Atlanta says:

OMG – I’m dying here in the apartment – no goats, no chickens, no giant puppy, no sheep, no piglet, NO MINI DONKEY!!! How sad my life is! I am so grateful to you for giving me a glimpse of what life SHOULD be like! I know Princess Morgan appreciates it, but do the boys realize how lucky they all are? Pocahontas is adorable. Will you dress her up? Have a fashion parade with Clover and Annabelle? Oh, you must be having so much fun along with all your work!

  45. Jeannie in OKC says:

Gee, did you need something else to take care of in your spare time? How cute! Can’t wait to read stories about her.

  46. monica says:

    Hi little Pocahantas!
Oh thank you for telling us! Little N. has been pestering ever since the first time reading about her. He thinks she is the sweetest little gal! :turtle:

  47. KCRanch says:

Oh you for SURE SOOO needed her! Just like I SOOOO need the two pygmy’s we are bringing home this week!!! Yea!!! I am a pet goat owner – soon-to-be, sort of. :snoopy:

  48. Estella says:

She is soo cute! Are you going to get a miniature horse, too?

  49. catslady says:

Adorale – so what’s next???? :moo:

  59. ML says:

    One word….ADORABLE!!
