sly devil, also goat, also Clover. 1. Clever or cunning, especially in the practice of deceit. 2. Stealthy or surreptitious.
It was raining early Friday morning as I was packing the car for our trip. Goats don’t like rain, and a rainy morning usually means they don’t get up till 9 or 10. They’re never in a hurry to get their hair wet, even for food. I was surprised to see Clover up, but then I figured she wanted to see me off. We’re close, you know. I told her to keep her chin up, I’d be back.
Then she started hollering and screaming, and threw herself down on the ground and hollered some more. Sheesh. I didn’t expect her to take it that hard.
I said, “Clover! I’ll send you a postcard! I can even call you if you want! But I’m LEAVING!”
She got up off the ground, went to the goat house, threw everybody else out in the rain, and slammed the door.
I went down there and said, “Clover, you know I love you, but–”
And she said, “Stop being such an idiot, Woman. I am HAVING A BABY.”
Oh.
To be continued…….. (When I can get home and take proper pictures of THE SURPRISE BABY!)

I was going through the goat archives and just realized Clover’s last babies appeared unexpectedly, too. (And also not long before a planned visit to Ross – is Clover jealous of Ross?) What a sneaky girl! My favorite part of the current story is where Clover threw the other goats out of the goat house into the rain and slammed the door.
