Here she is.
And look what she brought with her!
A baby. And it’s a lil heifer.
This cow is a Hereford, like Beau the bull, and the baby is half Hereford, half Angus.
Glory Bee isn’t sure what to think about all this.
She has so many new friends!
“When is this going to stop, Woman?”
Now. This is the whole herd.
The herd is Glory Bee, Dumplin, Moon Pie, Blossom (the new dairy girl), Beau (the new bull), and the new Hereford and her baby heifer.
The baby heifer will be staying, making six breeding girls–and a bull.
Now that’s a whole herd!

Welcome, New Cow and Baby! Looks like your herd will be mostly beef cows, not milkers?

Suzanne McMinn says:
Two are milkers–Glory Bee and Blossom. Dumplin and Moon Pie are half-dairy, half-beef, though I don’t have plans to milk them. And the new cow and her baby are full beef. So a little of everything!

So all these guys are permanant residences and their calves will be sold and/or used for meat?
On April 5, 2016 at 2:14 am
Suzanne McMinn says:
All six of these girls (including the black and white heifer calf) will be staying permanently. Yes, either their future calves will be sold, or used to provide our own beef.
