Free Book Friday: My Favorite Excuse

Desdemona.

We gave away the other four kittens, so she has no friends. Her mama is busy hunting, and my other 496 cats find her far too immature for their sophisticated tastes.

So that makes me her new best friend.

She’s here.

She’s there.

She’s everywhere!

I’m supposed to WORK LIKE THIS? 😮

She is awful cute, though, isn’t she? What’s your favorite excuse for not doing whatever you should be doing right now? Drop a comment, and a random commenter will be chosen on Monday to receive another one of the June Silhouette Romantic Suspense releases–A Serial Affair by Natalie Dunbar!

She’s definitely too cute. I have kids, do I need an excuse not to work? 😉 (Don’t pick me, I’m leaving for WDW for 2 weeks Monday – have a good weekend!)

  2. leanne says:

She is really cute. I have a 1 year old daughter, so that should be excuse enough right there, but you also have to put in there getting swept away by a book. You all know what I’m talking about, like just let me finish this chapter and then I’ll finish cleaning the house. :rotfl: Yea right!!!!! :purr:

Everyone have a fantastic weekend. I know I will, I’m going to the Milton Flea Market to go book hunting. :flying:

  3. Rachelle says:

OMG! she’s all over you! at first glimpse, I thought she was a rat.. LOL.. i have a pet who looks like your kitty..only she’s a dog..

my excuse is always, “i still have 5 minutes to check on these other sites..let me just do this..”then after 30 mins.. i say, “ah, i still can do this in a minute, i still have plenty of time today..let me just..” and it goes on and on..then the day ends. LOL

  4. Maureen says:

She’s a cutie. My excuse is that I need a break and then I’ll get to it.

  5. Tori Lennox says:

ROFL over that last picture. I wouldn’t be able to concentrate for those big blue eyes staring at me. *g*

  6. Brandy says:

    She is adorable!

Lets see….keeping me from doing what I need to do…… Kidding. Seriously, I get online and lose track of time, I read a book and lose track of time. Both are more fun that cooking cleaning and grocery shopping!
    Have a great weekend.

  7. RobynL says:

Right now my excuse is that I have to get through all the regular blogs I visit each day. Then we can have something to eat.

  8. Lis says:

Awww so cute!! I love that first photo. Could win a contest

My latest excuse is my dad’s on holidays and that means he wants to spend time together. Last night we went out for dinner and the casino and didn’t get home till 3:30 in the morning

  9. Alice Audrey says:

    :purr: Such a cutie!

I have no excuse. :drowning: House painting, kids, and computer woes should not be enough. I simply don’t know where the :clock: goes.

    Alice

  10. catslady says:

My excuse is absolutely identical to yours! I just got a 7 week old kitten and she’s now on my lap and I’m typing with one hand lol. I thought it was a he and just found out that it’s a she. My daughter had named him Stripe but I wanted something more girly so she is now officially “Lily Stripe.” She is a tortise but I have to admit your kitty has prettier eyes!

  11. Susan says:

She is a real cutie. I’m so lost trying to get my settings and email from my old PC to this just looking out the window is what I’m doing! :hissyfit:

  12. Marianne says:

She’s adorable. I love kittens — but mostly when they’re someone else’s for just the reasons you’ve noted! :purr:

Me? The biggest time waster I have it blog hopping and/or playing games. Bad writer, no cookie.

    Happy Friday!

  13. Becki says:

My excuse is simply my daughter has decided she is on “vacation” and getting her to do anything (comb hair, brush teeth, make her bed, put laundry away) is a nightmare. I can’t get into vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom or other routine “mom” stuff when princess parks herself in front of a computer or TV all day. :whip:

  14. Joyce says:

    Your kitten is adorable.

My time seems to evaporate when I log on to the computer – 5 minutes turns into an hour.

  15. Sasha White says:

    She certainly is too cute!!

I have no idea how you get any work done. LOL

  16. Ellen says:

Aww…your kitty’s so cute. I also love the name Desdemona. :purr:

Excuses? Er, I’ve been working out at the gym more lately. :sheepjump: Love that smiley! LOL. Otherwise, my excuses are too lame to list.

  17. Marty says:

She’s tiny! :cattail: My latest excuse is Facebook…been fiddling around with that site and its many time-waters…er, accoutrements!

  18. Teresa W. says:

She is so adorable! :catmeow: My excuse for not cleaning my house today is that I worked a double shift at work today. I’m off tomorrow with a graduation party to go to. Hope everyone’s weekend is great. :bananadance:

  19. kacey says:

    too cute!!

My cat has decided she likes to bat at my computer mouse while I’m working. SO helpful… :fryingpan:

  20. Dru says:

She’s too cute. I love the picture of her over the monitor.

Once I get on the computer or start a book, I lose all track of time. I should be food shopping, but I’m on the computer.

  21. Tammy G. says:

:purr: Your kitten is soooo cute!!! :purr:

  22. April A says:

She is sooooooooo cute! Our puppy dog does the same thing. The web is my easiest distraction. Argh!

  23. Cindy says:

She is so cute! My favourite excuse for not writing when I should be is that I’m researching. Which translates to surfing the internet looking up stuff.

  24. Kathleen says:

My excuse is to ignore the laundry that I should be doing! 🙂

    Your cat is soooo cute!

  25. Ericka Scott says:

    She’s simply adorable! :purr:

  26. Cheryl S. says:

She is so cute. I have no excuse . . . I just don’t want to do it.

  27. Kimmy says:

She’s a cutie. I hate doing the laundry. I gave part of the job to my daughter.

  28. Nicole Reising says:

:purr: She is a cutie! Procrastinating… I can’t figure it out. I go in spurts, can’t stop writing and then… to finish things up on the last edit, seem to need a deadline to kick my butt in gear. Suddenly laundry sounds like fun. Yeah, hit me over the head will ya… :fryingpan:
