But It Was Really Sweet

I was driving around in the country this weekend with a friend and I saw this white cow. I thought it was so pretty! Totally had to stop and take a picture. It came right up to the fence, which was somewhat flimsy-looking, and I got several shots close up then I thought, wow, I’m just going to pet it, it’s so cute. That’s when I noticed. I said to my friend, “Well look, it has horns–”

My friend said, “That’s because it’s a bull.”

OH.

    ROTFL!!!

I remember our neighbour, growing up, would always raise a bull in the spring/summer and slaughter it in the fall, out in the field adjacent to our house. I never could watch–too gruesome. But I guess that makes me a hypocrite, since I eat meat!

I wonder if “your” bull is for breeding or for food. Good photo!

    Have a great day, everyone.

Hehehe 😆 He’s still cute though! :cowsleep:

  3. Janice says:

Umm, this is a joke, right? ‘Cause you know that’s not the right end to check to see if it’s a bull. Plus, cows have horns too.

  4. Ellen says:

LOL! They should post a “Beware of Bull” sign. :cowsleep:

  5. Alice Audrey says:

Hey, cows have horns too. He looks like a Char-Brea. Charlette (sp?) are even lighter colored. :cowsleep:

As long as you wern’t wearing glasses.!!! My father-in-law had a bull a few years ago that if you came in the field with any kind of glasses on he would go nuts and charge at you. We think his previous owner might have hit him and wore glasses. We also had another bull one year that if you were a woman near that time, he would become attracted to you. NOT A PRETTY SITE!!! 😮 Hope everyone has a great day today.

He’s a very pretty bull, though. But I agree with Alice. I’m pretty sure cows can have horns, too.

  11. Suzanne says:

Yes, I know cows can have horns, too, but the presence of horns gives one pause once one notices them, LOL. And yes, upon inspection of his other end, it was a bull.

Great photo, Suzanne. I wish I could have seen you move! :flying: That picture made me smile. Love the quote about friends too- so true.

And how fast did you run? *g* He is a rather cute fellow.
    Have a pleasant day!

  14. catslady says:

Well he looks like a young bull but what do I know, I come from the suburbs lol. Carry sugar cubes or does that only work on horses?

  15. Dru says:

Love the picture, but that was too, too funny.

There are attack cows. Trained attack cows. I swear our neighbor had one on his farm… 😮

  17. Michelle Willingham says:

He really is a sweet one! Bet he has all the heifers waiting in line… :flying:

  18. Melissa McClone says:

Haha on the cow with horns! Good thing he didn’t ram the flimsy fence!

LOL, Friend is teasing you. Horns do not make a bull. And what does make them bulls is a delicacy when fried in corn meal and served up with grits.

She looks like someone’s sweet old milk cow to me.
