We have company! CindyP, one of my admins and moderators for my forum and Farm Bell Recipes, and Natalie, who also helps me with Farm Bell Recipes. They’re both here to help with the final preparations and setup for the party.
And to do my chores.
That’s Cindy milking Beulah Petunia. Doesn’t Natalie have cute boots?
Okay, okay, I milked, too. Milking out a cow isn’t for the faint of heart, or the first-timer.
CindyP: “Milking is hard.”
FINALLY! VALIDATION!!!
Here’s a sampling of what I’m feeding them while they’re here. Last night’s dinner was Real Tex-Mex Cheese Casserole with Chili Gravy, corn grilled in the husk, tortilla chips and guacamole, Stuffed Jalapenos, and sliced peaches (frozen from fresh last summer) over vanilla bean ice cream.
I’d have a photo of these after I roasted them, but we were having too much fun for me to stop and take pictures. The recipe is here, but I made these using crab and cream cheese.
They were delicious. And very hot.
Tonight we’re having Pepperoni Lasagna. Tomorrow is the party–and there will be enough food here to feed a small country of all teenagers. I promise to make myself stop and take pictures!
Today, we’re going to Heritage Days at the little school in Walton where I’m giving a butter-making demonstration and displaying raw fleece and homemade soap and whatever else I gather up by the time we head out. I’ll take Cindy and Natalie on the two-minute tour of our little town, and for a stroll through the little store. We’ll also stop to see Georgia and tour the old farmhouse. Then back home to make soap in advance of the party (preparing for the soapmaking demonstration tomorrow) and other last-minute party prep. I’ll be posting Party Prep Excitement as much as possible, so check back!

Oh what lucky ladies! To live close enough to come help you!!!! How awesome is that! I am so jealous.
More pictures, though! But I’m sure you’re extremely busy trying to get ready, I’m sure stopping to take pictures of everything could be an annoyance. I do hope you take LOTS of pictures of your party.
Have fun and I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!! :snoopy: :sheepjump:

Have a fabulous party – you’re really getting a start on it today! I’ll be thinking of you out here and wishing I were there…..
You’ve got so much for people to see and enjoy! I know Clover will be happy to show off her boys, but it sounds like BP might be a little protective of GB, IF GB will let Mommy keep her close!

How exciting!!!
I sure wish I could be there and hang out with people with similar interest. Makes me miss my Granny, we had so much in common. Around here unless you are into pedicures/spas you are the outsider. Most of the women I know don’t even cook. What is up with that?
