Nothing like sitting right in the food pan to make sure you don’t miss anything!
Anyway, in actual human food-related news, whilst I was without internet, I made 8 loaves of (regular) bread and 5 loaves of raisin bread. Sliced and put in the freezer. The raisin bread is to go with one of the breakfasts at the retreat and the regular bread is for the party. I also put away some pies in the freezer for the party. I made 8 pounds of soap to sell at the party, and spent a lot of time working Shortcake (mostly to no avail, trying to work on her “catching” issue). I also spent most of one day preparing Morgan’s feast that she requested after Weston (the vegetarian) went back to Morgantown–ham, mashed potatoes, peas, green beans, scalloped corn, rolls, and brownies. Like a big holiday meal, but without the extra people here to eat, which Morgan was determined should not stop me from putting on a feast. So I did.
Maybe Buttercup will do a craft for me later so I can update the House & Garden page. I’ve updated the Country Living and Barn pages repeatedly in the last several weeks as that is where my focus has been in projects around the farm. My blog reflects my life, so some categories get more focus at some times than others. (I promise to get Farm Bell Recipes updated as soon as I can–I’m so behind at the moment.) Meanwhile, I still have internet today….so far. How come I get internet AFTER I cancel my account? I should have cancelled my account SOONER.
