Preserving Toys (BBB)

Sep

Recently, I got a steam canner, and I just ordered myself a new Excalibur dehydrator–and I don’t feel bad at all because I deserve it. Now that it’s what Cindy and I have been lovingly and longingly referring to as A.R. (After Retreat), I’m ready to stop all this hard work and play with my new preserving toys!

I can’t get you a steam canner or dehydrator today (well, you might win a steam canner here!), but I can get you a BBB if your number comes up! (Sorry I haven’t done many BBBs lately–I’ve been distracted.)

After helping my dad clean out his attic, garage & outbuilding all summer I saw the title of the post and it brought to mind literally “preserving toys,” that is… keeping those cherished childhood keepsakes of my brother & mine safe from mice & mildew!
Anyways, can’t wait to learn to can at home and live life more simply with more do it yourself projects. THE BBB WOULD BE A GREAT KICKSTART!!! Thanks!!!

I thought for sure you were going to give tips on sanitizing baby toys in a pressure canner!! LOL! Your new toys are even better! I’m sure you’ll get lots of use out of them!

Just wanted to say that you inspire me and that your site is my favorite!! I think this is the first time I’ve commented, but I intend to become less of a lurker and more of a participator!

I’d love to win the BBB also!

I have a pressure canner that I still haven’t gotten up the nerve to use. Oh, I so should have been at that retreat! So I really don’t want to go near a steam canner. By the way, did I miss the post on using a steam canner?

Anyway, wanting to buy green beans this weekend, I’d better learn pressure canning quick. BBB, please.

I’m still up for winning that Ball Blue Book – for my daughter. Count me in. Thanks for the continuing opportunities. I still haven’t purchased a pressure canner, but have harvested 116 pounds of tomatoes from my garden so far this year… Canned whole tomatoes, tomato jam, tomato soup, stewed tomatoes… not to mention fresh tomatoes with EVERY meal! I think it’s about time I graduated from my BWB! Maybe next season.

  48. Willamette Valley Girl says:

I would really use a BBB. My daughter and I are rabid canners. Thanks for the opportunity to win this gift.

  49. Darlene in North GA says:

Don’t know if this will make it in time or not, but count me in if you can.
