Buckeye Bound

We’re headed to Ohio today to pick up Pocahontas. I hope she likes chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, and pigs. Not to mention dogs and cats. And me. And hills and trees and molasses cookies.

A few final clues…..
Pocahontas is NOT….

….a fish.

Pocahontas is NOT….

….a miniature cow.

Pocahontas is NOT…..

….a one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater.

Pocahontas IS….

Oh, never mind that, you know I’m not gonna tell!!

On another note, I’m giving an online workshop on the art of blogging that runs from June 15-19. You can find out all about it here and sign up. You don’t have to be a member of the group to take the class. Online workshops are conducted via a group email list. If you have questions about signing up for the class, email the workshop coordinator, Karen Erickson.

See ya tomorrow–with Pocahontas! She IS…..something special!

  1. Melinda says:

Love your site! Can’t wait! See you tomorrow.

  2. lisa says:

    I’m stilll betting she’s a turkey!
Or maybe a mule???… Will be looking forward to tomorrows post.

  3. Cyndi L. says:

Not a one eyed, one horned, flying, purple, people eater? 😮 What kind of farmer are you?

  4. Heidi533 says:

I still think she a Donkey. I can’t wait to see if I’m right. I hope you have a fun day traveling.

  5. Remudamom says:

Donkey or a mini horse. I hope you bought her cart and harness too.

  6. Stacy says:

I’m still with alpaca-hope I’m right. this is worse than waiting for christmas morning as a kid!

  7. Lynda Dunham-Watkins says:

I think she is either a milk cow or a heifer to be raised as a milk cow. You’ve about everything else!!

  8. Jenny says:

Finally the mystery will be resolved! I’ve even drawn my husband into guessing on this. Looking forward to seeing Pocahontas!

  9. Pete says:

Will add another possibility that every farm needs: a peacock… :purpleflower:

  10. MaryLou/TX says:

My money is riding on a donkey for mini horse.

  11. Shells says:

Hm, initially I was going to go with either a miniature donkey or miniature horse …. but as I think about it something like an alpaca or merino makes sense as nothing on that farm is without a purpose and while the donkey/horse has a purpose its not to provide food or fibre like the others …. can’t wait to see.

  12. wildcat says:

I’m still thinking Pocahontas is a miniature horse.

Although a one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater would have been really cool.

I wonder what Annabelle and Clover will think of the new girl. :happyflower:

  13. Wendy says:

    I hope she’s a mini horse.

  14. Leah says:

I’m guessing it’s the mini donkey you wished for……til tomorrow! :snoopy:

  15. catslady says:

It has to be kind of small since she is stooped down to pat it so that eliminates some things I think unless of course it’s totally laying down hahahah you’re driving us crazy lol.

  16. Taryn says:

I agree with the comment that the animal is something useful. Maybe not a miniature cow, but a full size milk cow (eventually!) or an alpaca because of the fur. If it is named something that doesn’t relate to food, I doubt it is something to eat. Pretty cool!

  17. Nancy in Atlanta says:

Oh, you are so loving this mystery. Dragging it out so we’re going nuts. Whatever it is, knowing you it will be useful, lovable, and adorable!!! :dancingmonster:

  18. Sarah Ouellette says:

:hissyfit: No! I just can’t wait anymore! I need to know. Wait? Pouting and hissyfits aren’t gonna make you tell today? Well bummer! Have a safe trip to get her drive carefully but dont be a :turtle: slow poke!!

  19. Susan says:

I am looking forward to tomorrow. We will finally meet Pocahontas! :snoopy:

  20. Estella says:

Suzanne, you are not old enough to remember a one-eyed, onehorned, flying purple people eater!

  21. KentuckyFarmGirl says:

I’m guessing an alpaca or llama!

  22. BuckeyeGirl says:

Well, I did a thorough search of the ‘inter-web’ and found out who/what Pocahontas is. I’m not telling though! I’m looking forward to Suzanne’s pics of her just as much as the rest of you all! The pic I found was very good I’m sure, but definitely lacking the personality of Suzanne’s pics that we are all used to enjoying. (yes, I’m a little jealous cause she’s SO talented!)

I’m pretty sure I found the right one, but if not I’ll be sure to say what I -THOUGHT- she was and admit my goof-up. I’d rather share my laughter with everyone than try to be sneaky and such!! :sun:

  23. Becky says:

My husband thinks it is ostrich. I think It is a miniture horse. Cant wait to find out!!!

  24. Sarah says:

Hmmm maybe a pig – that’s pig fencing – am clueless! LOl, Sarah
