Buttercup in my yet unpacked suitcase. I think he has decided that if we go anywhere else, he’s coming with!!!
Unfortunately, he can’t go the next place we’re going. We have a house for a week on Carova Beach in the Outer Banks. If it doesn’t get blown away by Ophelia! Anyone else taking a fall trip? If you could go somewhere in the fall, where would you go? In case our Carova Beach house gets blown away and I need ideas…..

Bit early in the season, but I would love to see the fall colors in Vermont one year. Just drive up the east coast. A dream.

When the Texas heat seems to never relent, I love to go to the mountains. Colorado or Wyoming. Sigh. And often I get more than just cooler weather…snow! Love it. I do love to see the Aspens turn.

Where would I go in the fall? Anywhere my mother-in-law can’t reach us. Actually, that goes for winter, spring and summer as well. (She was a barrel of laughs this weekend.) :fryingpan:
Seriously, I’d love to go leaf viewing in New England and get a chance to actually enjoy fall, which we never really have in SoCal.
And I love the picture of Buttercup — he certainly understands who’s king around your house!

Congratulations Estella and Melissa!
I’ve always heard that New England is beautiful in the fall. It sounds like that would be a nice trip.

In November we’re going here. Wind-whipped beaches, heaving grey seas, the plaintive cry of a seabird… then home to a roaring fire, good food, and a good book.
Oh, and the cottage we’ve rented has a whirlpool bath. *bobbing eyebrows*
Roll on November.

I’m going to San Antonio in October. It’s with students so it doesn’t really count as a vacation, but it’s still going to be fun.
Hope your cabin doesn’t get blown away!

I love both Colorado and Maine in the fall. Maine for the crisp temps and the tourist lull in September (although I hear the October foliage is gorgeous) and Colorado for the elk rut season. Pretty cool to hear elk calls throughout the night.
Hope Ophelia doesn’t ruin your trip!

I live in New England and it is gorgeous here in the fall. The leaves are beautiful. So, Suz, if you lose the beach house come visit me. :hyper:
😀 Thanks for the congrats Carol!
I’m not planning a fall vaca but if I were I’d go to Scotland.
 Thanks for the book, Suz.

During our kids’ Fall Break, we love to take a week in the North Georgia Mountains just wandering around, hiking, and panning for gold. Don’t know if we’ll be going anywhere this year, though.
Fingers crossed Ophelia leaves your house alone!

Don’t think I’m going anywhere myself. I’d love to see the maples turn red sometime in the Muskoka area and view the cranberry bogs. I’d stop at my sister’s lodge for one last time 🙁 before they move out to a farm
Other than that, I’d love to see Williamsburg again. :yes:I got hooked on it when I read Elswyth Thane’s 7 books about two families there. I loved them and Williamsburg when I saw in almost 20 (Yikes, already?) years ago.
Above all, keep safe.

I’ve always wanted to see the changing of the leaves in New England. Here in Texas we don’t have changing of the seasons – Summer, 2 wks fall, 1 month winter, 2 wks spring and then summer again (remember?). My dream vacation would be to Ireland. Right now I’d like to be just about anywhere but here.

My cats love suitcases too. Open or closed they want to sleep on them/in them.
We’re headed to the Florida keys in a few weeks. Sunshine and snorkeling, lying on the beach. I can handle it.

I’m not going anywhere, but if I were, I’d go to Ireland. Pity I can’t travel back through time and pick up a few hunky medieval warriors if they were still around. Man, the customs forms would be such a pain!

Mmm a fall vacation. I would be so thrilled to get to go to upstate New York, or anywhere in the NorthEast. The crisp air, the leaves turning, the small town apple festivals, WOW!

Awwww…I love cats in suitcases. I have a photo of my friend Marilyn’s two ginormous Maine Coons whom I catsit, laying seige to her suitcase. Classic.
Vacation? Oh, that would be so lovely. I’m taking a day trip to Dutchess County, NY for a rubber stamp show in late September. DH has been making noises about a NY state trip since July, so that’s definitely something to look forward to. :bananadance:
