Coming With!

Buttercup in my yet unpacked suitcase. I think he has decided that if we go anywhere else, he’s coming with!!!

Unfortunately, he can’t go the next place we’re going. We have a house for a week on Carova Beach in the Outer Banks. If it doesn’t get blown away by Ophelia! Anyone else taking a fall trip? If you could go somewhere in the fall, where would you go? In case our Carova Beach house gets blown away and I need ideas…..

Two more winners of It Only Takes A Moment–Estella and Melissa. Email me your addresses! :hyper:

  1. Katie says:

Bit early in the season, but I would love to see the fall colors in Vermont one year. Just drive up the east coast. A dream.

  2. Margery Scott says:

We usually go to Virginia or Myrtle Beach in the fall, but not this year. :hissyfit:

  3. Sandy J says:

The mountains! Would love to go to the mountains!

  4. Leanna says:

When the Texas heat seems to never relent, I love to go to the mountains. Colorado or Wyoming. Sigh. And often I get more than just cooler weather…snow! Love it. I do love to see the Aspens turn.

  5. Mary says:

The beach! Or England. I love England and this year my husband is taking me to Paris. I’ll let you know how it is.

  6. Toni Anderson says:

    My brother recommends Hawaii
If I could go anywhere…Italy, I haven’t been there yet

  7. Cherlyn says:

I’m in the Midwest so any quiet beach is dreamy to me!

  8. Estella says:

Vermont—-I’d love to go there and check out the color and the maple syrup.
    Bit early tho.
Thanks so much for the book:bananadance:

  9. Caro says:

Where would I go in the fall? Anywhere my mother-in-law can’t reach us. Actually, that goes for winter, spring and summer as well. (She was a barrel of laughs this weekend.) :fryingpan:

Seriously, I’d love to go leaf viewing in New England and get a chance to actually enjoy fall, which we never really have in SoCal.

And I love the picture of Buttercup — he certainly understands who’s king around your house!

  10. Carol says:

    Congratulations Estella and Melissa!

I’ve always heard that New England is beautiful in the fall. It sounds like that would be a nice trip.

  11. Anna says:

In November we’re going here. Wind-whipped beaches, heaving grey seas, the plaintive cry of a seabird… then home to a roaring fire, good food, and a good book.

Oh, and the cottage we’ve rented has a whirlpool bath. *bobbing eyebrows*

    Roll on November.

  12. mary beth says:

I’m going to San Antonio in October. It’s with students so it doesn’t really count as a vacation, but it’s still going to be fun.
Hope your cabin doesn’t get blown away!

  13. Amy K. says:

I love both Colorado and Maine in the fall. Maine for the crisp temps and the tourist lull in September (although I hear the October foliage is gorgeous) and Colorado for the elk rut season. Pretty cool to hear elk calls throughout the night.

Hope Ophelia doesn’t ruin your trip!

  14. Melissa says:

    Awwwww…Butterboo’s found a comfy spot….

I live in New England and it is gorgeous here in the fall. The leaves are beautiful. So, Suz, if you lose the beach house come visit me. :hyper:

😀 Thanks for the congrats Carol!

I’m not planning a fall vaca but if I were I’d go to Scotland.

 Thanks for the book, Suz.

  15. Lynn Daniels says:

During our kids’ Fall Break, we love to take a week in the North Georgia Mountains just wandering around, hiking, and panning for gold. Don’t know if we’ll be going anywhere this year, though.

Fingers crossed Ophelia leaves your house alone!

  16. Jill says:

If I could go anywhere, count me in for Hawaii …

  17. Kelly says:

Unfortunately, no trips scheduled for the fall. Just staying in the hometown!

  18. Mary Stella says:

I’m going to NJ in a few weeks. Not exactly a vacation, but I’ll enjoy the very early fall weather.

  19. Maureen says:

The beach is great in the fall, less people.

  20. Desperate Writer says:

I love to go to Red River NM in the fall. it’s practically a ghost town, and lovely! Sometimes we even get to see some early snow.

  21. Jordan says:

    Hawaii is always nice.

  22. Trish says:

We’re headed to the Smokies in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

  23. ruby55 says:

Don’t think I’m going anywhere myself. I’d love to see the maples turn red sometime in the Muskoka area and view the cranberry bogs. I’d stop at my sister’s lodge for one last time 🙁 before they move out to a farm

Other than that, I’d love to see Williamsburg again. :yes:I got hooked on it when I read Elswyth Thane’s 7 books about two families there. I loved them and Williamsburg when I saw in almost 20 (Yikes, already?) years ago.

    Above all, keep safe.

  24. Eve says:

I’ve always wanted to see the changing of the leaves in New England. Here in Texas we don’t have changing of the seasons – Summer, 2 wks fall, 1 month winter, 2 wks spring and then summer again (remember?). My dream vacation would be to Ireland. Right now I’d like to be just about anywhere but here.

  25. Tori says:

No trips planned, but I’ve always wanted to see the leaves turning in New England. 🙂

  26. Ashley says:

My kitties love suitcases, open drawers, boxes, laundry baskets (preferably with CLEAN laundry). For fall trips, I love to go watch the leaves change in the mountains.

  27. Carol Burnside says:

My cats love suitcases too. Open or closed they want to sleep on them/in them.

We’re headed to the Florida keys in a few weeks. Sunshine and snorkeling, lying on the beach. I can handle it.

  28. Michelle says:

I’m not going anywhere, but if I were, I’d go to Ireland. Pity I can’t travel back through time and pick up a few hunky medieval warriors if they were still around. Man, the customs forms would be such a pain!

  29. Melissa Mc says:

No trips for us in the fall due to soccer season.

  30. kacey says:

I’m in Destin right now. Well, out of Destin. The weather is wonderful. The water is crystal clear. Come here if your vacation gets blown away…

  31. Danni says:

Mmm a fall vacation. I would be so thrilled to get to go to upstate New York, or anywhere in the NorthEast. The crisp air, the leaves turning, the small town apple festivals, WOW!

Hope your mini-vacation works out really well! And take the poor kitty, he’ll be so lonesome!

  32. Melissa Marsh says:

A fall trip…definitely to Colonial Williamsburg. I’ve never been to the east coast – only a layover in D.C. – so I REALLY want to get out there sometime soon!!!

  33. Mechele Armstrong says:

LOL he looks ready to go.

I want to go the Outer Banks *sigh*. Longest we’ve been without going and with soccer, doesn’t look like we’ll make it this fall.

    Have fun Suzanne!

  34. Anna says:

Awwww…I love cats in suitcases. I have a photo of my friend Marilyn’s two ginormous Maine Coons whom I catsit, laying seige to her suitcase. Classic.

Vacation? Oh, that would be so lovely. I’m taking a day trip to Dutchess County, NY for a rubber stamp show in late September. DH has been making noises about a NY state trip since July, so that’s definitely something to look forward to. :bananadance:
