Check out the latest look in Silhouette Intimate Moments covers. I’m liking it! These are July covers (other than mine). Then vote in the new cover art poll in the sidebar!
One of my favorite things about this cover is that it means Beverly Barton has a book out in July on the shelf next to mine. I like to fantasize that her NYT bestseller legion of fans will skip over to the SIM shelf to get hers and say, hey, I’ll take THIS SUZANNE McMINN ONE, TOO. Hey, a girl can dream. And it’s a great cover, too, don’t you think?
This one looks like an ad for a show on the sci-fi network. I like it.
A cowboy cover that is actually cool.
This is an example of the covers SIM was doing en masse in recent years. This is what I call the “running people” cover. For awhile, it seemed like every other SIM was a “running people” cover. This one is worse than usual–check out the wimpy hero. He kicked ass in this book and he looks like my nine-year-old could kick HIS ass. And check out the creepy hand in the lower left corner. It looks like E.T.’s hand. Whenever I autograph this book, I stick the autographed copy label over the creepy hand–which does nothing to assuage the wimpy hero problem, but I can’t solve everything. I’m so happy SIM has changed its cover look.
Things got better for me with SIM covers when they did this hot hero-only cover for my April book. The Beast Within is also a hero-only cover–and only his face. Very mainstreamy.
Here are some of the updated looks in other lines in July:
This is one of the July Special Editions. Gorgeous, huh?
Interesting Desire cover! Just the hands.
I love the photographic look here. It’s beautiful. (More hands.)
Or you can just have feet! (And nice cover, huh?)
Look! No people at all! And I like that, too.
What do you think?

What a variation! Which one do you like best?

I’m torn between the Super cover and the SSE cover. Those are both really beautiful. I’m just thrilled to see what they’re doing with category covers these days.

Wow, that Super cover is much more mainstreamy. Love it. LIke the SSE, the Desire, and the HA one too. I’m so glad the covers are getting better.
π on the “running covers” on SIM. We can only hope they are finished with that theme :fryingpan:

I like the covers that are more mainstream-y, as long as there are no h/h in a clinch. I do love your HMTR cover. They had to give Roman the bestest cover π

I like when they get really creative with colors, shadows and different angles. They look really mainstream that way.

Wow! The cover for Beast is awesome! Very Kenyon/Dark Hunter-esque. Adding it to my Buy list!:bananadance: (Couldn’t resist – the dancing banana seemed appropriate. lol)

I, too, like what they’ve been doing with recent H/S covers. I tend to like the more subtle effect covers. Love the hero only covers, that SD cover with the hands and the Super cover with the hands/piano.
Here’s hoping they continue on with these improved covers!

Oooh, I really like the feet with the “knocking boots” inuendo. π

I’m probably one of the few people on earth to think this, but I’m not a big cover person. I mean, they all look nice. I’ve seen very few that I’ve really had issues with. The only thing I don’t like about covers is when they use people, and the people look nothing like the descriptions in the book.
Out of the ones above, the Desire one is my favorite.

I’m not a big cover person, either. I don’t really notice them too often. Since I buy so many of my books from Amazon, I barely notice the covers at all. Of these, I like the “In Dark Waters.” Intriguing.

I like them all. They’re very well put together. The pictures are clear as the compositions in some of them. π

Covers are definitely looking better and better all the time. I admit that Desire is my favorite, althought the Sci-Fi-ish one is pretty cool looking, too. (Phooey. No alien smileys.)

LOL and agree with you on the running cover.
Like the cowboy too.

I like the photorealistic ones, as well as the ones that take a unique approach, like the feet and hands. I also like the Beverly Barton cover as well as The Beast Within.
Fun topic!

This has nothignto do withteh title and covers…but your little dog Boopsie is right next to the comment box, and as I feed him a biscuit, he’s barking and panting, and my cat is freked out by the computer. π
