Horse show! My daughter competes in the fall and spring horse show at the stables near our house where she takes horseback riding lessons. They show off their skills and it’s kind of like a piano recital. They have to make the horse walk, lope, jog, etc. Morgan had some very uncooperative horses who had been lugging around obnoxious children all day and were tired of it. She had to ride Queenie in her second event. Queenie is tall and freaks her out. Queenie wanted to go everywhere but where Queenie was supposed to go. Morgan was crying when she got off. She said Queenie scared her. Queenie is too big and makes her be too high off the ground. I told her to tell Miss Pate that she isn’t riding Queenie anymore. Morgan said, I have to learn to not be scared when I ride horses that are that high off the ground. Argh. BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID! THIS IS MY BABY!! Where did I go wrong????

Oh, she’s so lucky. Learning to ride so my butt doesn’t slap the saddle every step is one of my goals in life. Here’s hoping her fear passes quickly and mommy survivies it!

That “jog” is called trot 😀 (kacey, remembering from camp days long, long ago). So did she bring home any ribbons?
Well, normally conquering fears is a good thing…but that IS a tall horse! 😯

Wow, she looks great! I never tried horse riding. I’d love to, but I’d have to find the slowest horse possible. I second Beth. Go, Morgan!

Kacey, she won a first (on Queenie!) and a third place on Midnite. They call it either jog or trot where she takes lessons. The instructor was telling them to jog. Maybe it’s a North Carolina thing?

My daughter used to show saddle seat, but it just got too expensive for us. Not to mention that with her other activities, the only day I wasn’t trucking her around was Sunday. I can’t tell you how often I prayed for rain. 🙂 But she did look awfully cute all dolled up for shows.
Sounds like Morgan’s got a great attitude!
