Free Book Friday: Busy!!!

May
26

Busy! The kittens are SO BUSY!!! They must hiss at the dog and chase butterflies and roll in dead leaves!! Climb trees and pounce on sticks! Attack each other’s tails and eat my catnip! It’s a hard, hard life being a kitten–SO MUCH TO DO!!! I guess they don’t have time to help me with the laundry this weekend……..or driving the kids to baseball……..or saving all my files to an external hard drive cuz I’m getting worried about my laptop. (It’s heavy breathing. I’m afraid it’s gonna die!!)

What are you up to this weekend? Tell me, and one winner will be drawn to pick an autographed copy from my contemporary backlist!

  1. Melissa says:

I want to be a kitten in my next life!

This weekend I’m resting. Just got back from Orlando and Daytona and I’m exhausted! I was invited to tea by the Queen of England but I had to turn her down. Maybe next time…

  2. Marcy says:

    How cute are they!

It’s probably going to rain this weekend so I’ll get caught up on the laundry. LOL It’ll be so exciting. :rotfl:

  3. Becki says:

Long weekend plans were suddenly scrapped when we discovered SCHOOL on Monday! In Texas! Our daughter has perfect attendance and gets a prize for it at the awards ceremony Tuesday. Means a lot to her. So, avoiding the tourists that come to our suuny sanndbar and cleaning out a cabinet. Last day of school: May 31!

  4. Angie says:

This is a play-it-by ear weekend. No plans whatsoever! The Masters Waterski Tournament is here at Callaway Gardens this weekend, we may catch some of that one day. But nothing is carved in stone and that’s the way I likes it!
We have so few weekends like that….
So, Melissa, you turned down her Majesty, too? πŸ˜•
Guess that means I wasn’t her first choice. πŸ˜€

  5. Carol says:

It’s a busy weekend for me. I’m babysitting tonight, going to my granddaughter’s dance recital tomorrow and celebrating my daughter’s, a different granddaughter’s, and my daughter-in-law’s birthdays on Monday along with Memorial Day! We have so many birthdays to celebrate that we try to group them together.

  6. Jill says:

I’m writing The End on a short novella I’m doing for Harlequin.

And eating. Always lots of eating.

  7. Robyn says:

I’m working at our local Flea Market for friends who had to go out of town; both Sat. and Sun. so I started laundry this morning.

  8. Madeline says:

Waiting for refrigerator repair man (AGAIN!), tweaking 2 astrology charts for clients coming on Saturday. Massage later this evening! Yippee!

  9. Jennifer Y. says:

    I love kittens!

Hmm…this weekend I will probably relax, read, and catch up on tv shows that I recorded.

  10. catslady says:

Nothing exciting here – yard work and more yard work if the weather cooperates.

I miss having cute little kittens around. One summer I had 11 feral kittens and was able to find homes for most of them (and fixed 3 of the mothers that had them lol).

  11. Minna says:

    I’ll be writing my thesis.:yuck:

  12. Maureen says:

The kittens are very cute. I will be cleaning and painting this weekend.

  13. Maureen says:

Love the kittens. It’s cleaning and painting for me this weekend.

  14. Estella Kissell says:

Kittens are so cute. We are going home(home town) to a friends for a barbecue. My kids still live there, along with a 9 mo. old grandson, so am really looking forward to it.

  15. mary beth says:

Kicking my summer break off by celebrating the best senior class ever at graduation before sleeping, drinking Colorado Bulldogs and Margaritas and enjoying my vacation!

  16. Carol Burnside says:

DH is home after being gone for a few days. We’ve got a cul-de-sac party Sat evening, yard work throughout the weekend, the normal house cleaning and laundry chores to keep up with and we’ll travel by boat across the lake for a cookout at a friend’s house on Monday.

Somewhere in there, I need to mail off a contest entry. :blahblah:

  17. ruby55 says:

Aren’t they just like human toddlers? I never thought of that before. But then, we’ve never had kittens before. Do they, too, sleep about 18 hours a day, which, I heard, was the normal schedule for cats?

I’ve got one more day to go before I have relative quiet back here with no radio blaring and voices shouting from the salon up front. Talk about sensory overload and stress! I’m also overtired.

I guess I should do some grocery shopping tomorrow as well as laundry. I already did 2 loads yesterday but thought I could finish redoing the 15-page document I lost somewhere in the computer, cyberspace, wherever. I *know* I saved it several times. That’s what makes it to maddening. It has to be there somewhere. I have to split it up a little so that the results won’t be as drastic as they were the first time with my hands, arms, neck and back. I was just one big ache for about a week.

Then I’ll see what I can do on the days I’ll finally be able to go into the bedroom rather than go crazy in there. I’ve more or less just been marking time since about 0930 trying to ungrit my teeth and undo the knots in all my muscles.:thumbsdown:on the day. The main honcho just doesn’t seem to understand what the overload means to me.:wall: I may have to get a doctor’s note or one from my disability insurance. :talktothehand:

We had our long weekend last week. So have a good holiday weekend. I hope it doesn’t bring up too many sad feelings.

Minna in Suomi, all the best with your thesis. One of my cousins is married to a Finn. They apparently live quite far north. When my aunt thinks of her and her children, she always laments the lack of sun that they suffer for most of the year. I should ask my cousin exactly where they live. I last saw her in 1995 and she must have married soon after because the next thing I heard she was living in Finland. BTW, all her family lives in Germany. Her mother died of cancer about 15 years ago.

  18. Joyce says:

Hope to have a very quiet three day weekend. :rotfl:
    The kittens are adorable.:hyper:

  19. Cheryl S. says:

Tomorrow is a trip to the allergist for my daughter. Then, hopefully, after that a quiet couple of days of reading, watching movies and relaxing. Oh, will have to work on laundry in there too but I was trying to forget that.

  20. Minna says:

Oh dear. Ruby, why on earth does your aunt think that your cousins have to suffer the lack of sun for most of the year? If they live way up north in Lapland, they don’t see very much of the sun for a couple of months at winter, just the stars and the moon and the northern lights, but they see plenty of the sun at summer -even at midnight and at spring you wait for the days to get longer and at autumn, of course, you wait for the days to get shorter, so the sun doesn’t stay hidden all that long, even though it might seem like it at winter.

  21. Melissa says:

    πŸ˜† Angie

  22. Jennifer Y. says:

Melissa and Angie: Y’all make me laugh :rotfl:

  23. Laurie G says:

Well… picked son up in Gainesville from summer school…now going to sleep until 6:00AM every morning!! Then going to enjoy my family. Also we’re attending c several HS graduation parties today and tomorrow and Monday!!

  24. TeresaH says:

    The kittens are soooo cute!

This weekend we aren’t doing much πŸ™ but we will be cooking out with some friends on Monday.

  25. Jeanette Jackson says:

Since I have no life…we will be playing poker on Saturday (as usual)…although it is garage sale season again so I’ll be doing that too

  26. Crystal* says:

Well. Today is rather shot. But tomorrow I will either be: working on my contemporary erotic…starting my paranormal…or working on an anthology. Gee. Bottom line? Fingers to the keyboard.
    Grins*

  27. Crystal* says:

OH! Almost forgot! And waiting for my prego kitty to gift me with grandkitties.
