It’s spring break!!!! We’re having a blast–how about you? It’s SPRING!!!! And we are having a real Girl Power week with my best friend from kindergarten, Mary, and her daughter, Maddy, visiting at the farmhouse from Maryland!!! Isn’t that the coolest? Mary and I were best friends till junior high when I moved away, but we stayed in touch through letters and later email–and now she’s here! This is the first time we’ve seen each other in 25 years and we are having SO MUCH FUN!!! What are we doing this week?
Porch sitting and talking, talking, TALKING……..and…………..
Driving down country roads (and talking)–isn’t spring in West Virginia gorgeous? And….
Hiking down to the awesome cave near the farmhouse (and talking)………and…………
Playing football in the yard…..and catching salamanders in the creek…………(and talking)……..and………playing with kittens and bunnies………(and talking)………and MORE TALKING!
Is she adorable OR WHAT?
Sweet six-year-old Maddy is asking today’s Free Book Friday question!!! For your pick from my autographed backlist, what character is Maddy’s favorite Disney heroine?
One winner will be chosen on Monday from those who guess the correct answer!

This weekend, our Ladybug (Emily) turns 9. My husband and a throwing a “girlie-girl” party. He wonders how two fashion-conscious challenged parents can have such a fashion-oriented darling.
Do Disney Channel heroines count? Then Kim Possible is the one. Kim is smart, a cheerleader, and supportive of her friends.

My first thought was Mulan so I’ll go with that, though Maddy looks a little too young. But, hey, what do I know about Disney characters? :bananadance:
Nice to get back together with friends you haven’t seen for a while especially if they’re good friends. I’ve had one friend since Kidergarten, i.e., the German nursery school. We met when we were three. We wrote each other a lot but now, since she has no computer, we telephone the other on birthdays and take turns at Christmas.:blahblah:

Fannie M Wiggins says:
Why would I know about heroines? All my grandchildren are BOYS.:wall: I know Power Rangers, Bob the Builder, Thomas the Train and so forth. I am therefore selecting my favorite of all time, Tinkerbell. Now there is a heroine who has stood the test of time. Of course, I am probably wrong but that’s okay. Good luck everyone. Have a great weekend. I am taking a few days away so until next Thursday, hugs.
