Spring is in the air! Could you go to another blog today and see a picture of farmcats in love? NO. Okay, this post is not really about cats with spring fever…… Who has been working out since last month? Or who is going to start now? Post here about your progress or your goals, and one comment number will be chosen at random to win an autographed book from my contemporary backlist! See you Monday!

  1. Elizabeth says:

Ok, I’ll start this off by confessing that I said I would but I haven’t. I just can’t get my lazy butt moving again. I’ve done sporadic days of working out but nothing regularly yet. My daughter says she’ll work out with me on weekends and we’re starting tomorrow. That should get me started on a routine again.

  2. Suzanne says:

Oh–I meant to put in that post that I have been walking almost every day! I missed a couple days this past month–once when it was snowing, and another couple times when it was really windy (I hate walking in the wind!!). But other than that, I have walked four miles every day!! :bananadance:

  3. Angela Giles Klocke says:

I do a light workout daily. You know, rapid typing, gentle spinning in my chair, pacing while on the phone. It all counts!

  4. Crystal says:

My husband bought me an exercise bike for Valentine’s Day (I had asked for one) and I have only missed a couple of days using since then. I feel like I am actually doing something to improve my health.

  5. Carol says:

Both of my children have exercise machines. I use my daughter’s when I visit her. However, my son only lives a few minutes away from me so I have started going over there two or three times a week. They are both at work and I put their dog out for them while I’m there so it works for everyone! Now that the weather is going to be getting nicer I will walk more too. I can even walk to my son’s house to use his exercise machine!

  6. Robyn says:

I started the beginning of Feb. to watch what I eat and to use the treadmill every other day at least. I’m feeling good about it. But boy was it hard to actually START.

  7. Toni Anderson says:

    That doesn’t look comfortable!!

I haven’t worked out, and I’ve walked less in the last month than I have for ages. Of course we still have tonnes of snow and we did bottom out at -49C a couple of weeks ago, but really I have no excuse.

  8. catslady says:

Oh congrats to some of you. All I’ve managed so far was some more extra bowling but it at least gets me off the computer chair

Suzanne, you are going to have tons of little kitties running around

  9. Tori Lennox says:

But other than that, I have walked four miles every day!!

    I think I hate you. 😆

  10. Jennifer Yates says:

I have been sick  a lot this last month so I haven’t been able to workout as much as I wanted to. I have used my excercise bike a few times…still nowhere to walk around here. I hope to get my health straightened out and walk more.

Ugh! I feel horrible after reading that you have walked FOUR miles everyday!!! :loser:

  11. Jennifer Yates says:

Oh the loser icon is for me, not you!!!

  12. Lis says:

Well I’ve bowflexed a few times, less than I would have liked (had to drag the leg attachment halfway across the basement to hook it back up…grr…) but still, managed to do something :bananadance:

  13. Maureen says:

I had been walking on my treadmill three to four times a week but then had to have my family over so I spent all free time cooking and cleaning. But yesterday I started again. Four miles every day is great. I am working up to that.

  14. Estella Kissell says:

We have rain and more rain, so I still walk in place and watch what I eat—have lost 4 lbs.:bananadance:

  15. Jennifer Yates says:

Oh and that image of the cats is something that I have seen frequently around here with the strays! :rotfl:

  16. Laurie says:

I’ve been swimming everyday… even a couple of BRRR chilly mornings here in Florida. People think I’m crazy!!

Way to go people! It’s always so hard to get started!

I’ve been walking in the evenings before sunset with my husband…even managed to get the kids along a few times!

  17. Trish says:

It’s time to take the truck and get a load of mulch, time to sew wildflowers along the fencerow I cleaned out last fall, and time to stain some new baseboards for the house.

  18. Margery says:

I started back at the gym a few months ago, and even though I hate going, I feel so good after it’s over. I haven’t lost any weight, but I can now get into jeans I couldn’t wear for three years. :bananadance:

  19. Jeanette Jackson says:

I’ve been eating more fruits and vegetables than I used to…walking a little more than before

  20. ruby55 says:

Okay, I admit it. I haven’t gone out for walks as often as I intended too. But we’ve had such lousy weather that it really was more detrimental to my health to go out than to stay warm in the house. For a while, we had rain almost every day. Then cold (steadily below freezing for about 2 weeks) with icy winds. Then the temperature warmed up above freezing for 2 days and then freezing rain, snow and cold winds hit us again. I’ve been out walking this week every day but today. And I went shopping with a friend on Saturday. Not really exercise, but I suddenly got bad intestinal cramps (my IBS acting up) and had to sit down. Luckily I was able to sit on a comfy couch and see at least a few bits of the Olympics. My TV isn’t hooked up. Anyway, I’m not much of a TV couch-potato. I’m more for the computer and reading. That’s why it was relatively easy to give up TV though I’m having to have my favorite show, 24, taped by a friend.

Yeah, I guess not all that much exercise but I tried, sometimes in spite of miserable weather conditions. Oh, yeah, can’t afford going to a gym. I’d rather have something to eat. After all, I’ve lost all the weight I’ve wanted to or can lose without having the doctor put me on a diet–to gain weight.:rotfl::no:

  21. Lynn Daniels says:

We move into our new house in two weeks, and we’ll be dedicating one room to all our workout equipment As soon as we’re moved in, I’ll be making full use of that room.

    I can’t believe I’m actually excited about that. 😯

  22. Joyce says:

I have bone on bone in both my knees and am getting hyalgan shots in both knees. Just got #3 out of 5(one shot a week for 5 weeks) on this past wed. But you have made me realize I should be doing my exercises to strengthen my knee muscles. So I’m thanking you for reminding me.

  23. TeresaH says:

since I just was released this week to get to do something other than nothing after my surgery, my progress was going the wrong way, I gained a pound! ARGH! I guess after laying around doing nothing(doctors orders!) I should be glad that’s all I gained!!!

  24. catslady says:

Trish and others – I just received an alert/warning about buying any mulch that came from New Orleans/LA – apparently they have a very destructive termite that’s an added bonus in this mulch! Tell your neighbors too.

  25. Jennifer Yates says:

Joyce, thanks for reminding me that I should be doing my physical therapy excercises on my knee. I haven’t done them lately and can definitely tell.

  26. Christy says:

I’ve been trying to watch what I eat more closely and to eat MORE fruits and veggies. So far I feel good with my progress.

  27. Mechele Armstrong says:

    :bananadance: for you Suzanne.

😯 We just won’t talk about me.

  28. ruby55 says:

If I can get rid of the rats in the basement, I’ll put up my treadmill and walk on that. But it will have to be a little warmer too. But I’m not doing it if I’m going to stumble over rats or their bodies. Yuck.

  29. ruby55 says:

P.S. I just remembered the treadmill. So that is an extra as well as this one.

  30. Mary says:

Farm cats in love. That’s pretty scary.

  31. Minna says:

I walk 2km to the shop when I need to buy stuff. I can’t wait the day when the ice has melted from the roads and I can use my bike again!
