Girls Gone Wild: Planning Stage

Apr
19

Okay, so here are the plans. Lots of Mexican food and shrimp. Copious amounts of chocolate. My sister is bringing some salad. I have no idea WHY. That sounds entirely too healthy. We have a margarita machine. Yes, an actual MACHINE. We are professional margarita drinkers and we need professional-grade equipment. We plan to drink them all day. We will call them Slurpees. One day we’re going to go out to see a GIRL MOVIE. You know, unlike we get to see ordinarily. Not a movie for husbands and sons. Not a movie for daughters. Not that kind of girl movie. The last girl movie I saw was New York Minute with the Olsen twins. I want a GROWN-UP girl movie. Any recommendations for grown-up girl movies that are out right now?

We also have decided (okay, I have decided, and they have been instructed) that we are each going to do three things we’ve never done before. Any suggestions? This makes me think of the early years of “The View” when they got rid of Debbie Matenopolous (I’m sure I’m spelling her name wrong–what can I say? I’m not Greek!). They shoved her off the show and put her off-stage in this “Dare Debbie” thing where the poor girl was jumping out of airplanes until she finally QUIT. (DON’T BE MEAN!)

I’m so jealous, your weekend sounds like so much fun. I don’t know about girl movies. I want to see Miss Congeniality 2, though. Your three things make my one-thing-a-year look pitiful. Three is really ambitious.

  2. Kate R says:

go up in a hot air balloon? I did that for an article I had to write. The experience was wonderful. I have a slight fear of heights and every time I started to panic, I just stared at the horizon. It worked..

  3. Trace says:

How about go to one of those places where you get to cook your own dinner?

  4. Larissa says:

Ooh, that sounds fun! (Especially the food and margaritas *g*)

  5. Mary says:

Go to a nightclub and dance all night. I love to dance.

  6. kacey says:

Trace…hm cooking your own dinner…doesn’t sound like something new to me  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Okay, try a new to you drink. Try another new to you drink. And try yet another new to you drink… ๐Ÿ˜†

  7. Beth C says:

Movie recommendation: Upside of Anger. Excellent.

Things you’ve never done: What about getting a tattoo? ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  8. Jax says:

Try a really fancy martini – one of the new chocolate or other new flavors.

I’d be jumping out of a plane if money weren’t an issue.

    Or take a flying lesson.

Or get a tatoo – or a temporary tatoo.

Whatever you do, have a great time and keep us in on it.
    jax:lol:

  9. Christyne says:

I’m with Beth on the movie…THE UPSIDE OF ANGER is wonderful! I fell in love with Kevin Costner all over again!

I agree on the tatoo suggestion too…I keep saying I am going to get one during one of my “girls weekends” and I always come home pure as the driven snow …oh well, someday!

Hope you have a great time Suzanne!

  10. Jill says:

You’re on a lake right? I vote for skinny dipping at midnight. There’s nothing like it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Just watch out for water snakes, LOL …

  11. mary beth says:

Have a blast Suzanne. I second the vote on chocolate martinis. YUM!

  12. Jennifer says:

:mrgreen:Wow, sounds fun. Shrimp and chocolate, my two favorite foods, served seperately of course. Have fun!

  13. Trace says:

LOL Kacey! You’re right. Silly me!

  14. TheMan says:

Ladies, sorry the MODERATOR has to step in here:

    Mary,
no dancing all night, that implies dancing with men and that is a no-no.

Beth, sorry, nix the tatoo idea unless it is the TEMPORARY kind.

I like the skinny dipping idea from Jill, just do it alone or with your sister (I know, ewwwwww!)

  15. Suzanne says:

LOL!!! (shhhh! What happens in Tyler stays in Tyler.)

  16. Danica says:

I like the idea of 3 new things! You’ve inspired me, for my own little girls getaway. I told DH that what I want for Mother’s Day is to go away overnight to a spa with my best friend (who also needs a spa day). I think we will be integrating the three new things idea… you know, I could do that EASY with just food!

  17. Michelle says:

Can you see how green I am? How jealous??

  18. Katie says:

Can’t wait to hear what cool three things you come up with!! Have a safe flight!

  19. Sonja (from HCRW) says:

Go parasailing! It’s so much fun!

Good grown-up girl movie: The Sweetest Thing. It’s out on DVD though, so you’ll have to hit up Blockbuster. Have fun!
