Mea Culpa

It is baseball season. All three of my kids are in the thick of it. The boys are playing baseball and my daughter is in softball. Games and practices, between the three of them, six days a week. Unless God sends relief–rain! I have two new favorite rhymes.

Rain, rain, go away,
Come again on ballgame day!

and

It’s raining, it’s pouring,
Practice is boring…..

So what I’m getting at is that I missed a Free Book Friday for the first time! This Friday I’ll give away two books to make up for it! And I swear I’m going to start blogging every weekday again–I want to! It’s this damn baseball!! Make it stop!!!

{{{Suzanne}}} It’s so hard sometimes. I wonder how my mom did it.

  2. Cheryl S. says:

If it helps . . . it’s raining HERE today, Suzanne.

  3. Joyce says:

I am amazed your son let you take his picture. By the time my boys were teens they were in about 5 photos a year. It’s supposed to rain here in NJ on and off all week.

  4. Jennifer Yates says:

    Hugs!

  5. Toni Anderson says:

Thanks for my book Suzanne!! Hard to write and be a mom and everything thing else that seems to pop up.

  6. Estella Kissell says:

I had three kids in sports and I know what you’re talking about.

One of the few people that want rain during the day! Will marvels never cease?

I understand your dilemma. But it’s okay, as long as your question isn’t out of this world. Not going to Daytona?:?:

I wondered where you’d disappeared to. Of course the kittens are cute enough to look at every day for a week or more.

    Hugs and energy!

Good to see you back! I missed my morning read.

  9. Carol says:

We’ve missed you! It’s good to see you back. I’m sending rain clouds your way. We’ve had lots of them the last few days and are expecting more!

    Sympathies, Suzanne.

I just have one child, and with Science Fair finals, parent involvement recruitment workshops, school performance rehearsals, end of school year planning conferences, and what-to-do-about-the-budget-crisis-facing-our schools- 2006-2007 meetings, this stay at home mom hasn’t been home for dinner on a weeknight for weeks.

Belated Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms, honorary Moms, and everyone else out there helping raise kids that may turn out to be decent people.

    Becki:wave:

And, no rain worth mentioning on our sunny sandbar so add supervising lawn watering to the list.

  11. Angie says:

Suzanne, You need to convince them to play soccer! We only did one season of baseball before my sons became soccer addicted. Add that to the screaming, psycho baseball coach from hell and it didn’t take much to turn them against playing baseball. (I swear, you’d have thought we were the Atlanta Braves instead of the Pine Mtn Braves the way that idiot carried on. ) Soccer was much more fun! AND Thank god we only had one game a week…on rare occasions there may have been two. 😀 And the refs get to throw out unruly parents, coaches, or players. Gotta love that!
    Anyhoo…missed you and your updates!

  12. Marcy says:

We missed you, Suzanne, but we do understand that life happens.

  13. Minna says:

It was SNOWING here in Finland today -and there are already leaves in the trees and flowers are blooming. And right now some of those leaves look a bit brown. I definitely wouldn’t mind either if it were RAINING…

  14. catslady says:

I’m sick of rain and I don’t care if they said we needed it or not. This is the second week. Glad to see you back!

  15. ruby55 says:

I had to bundle up in my winter coat today, too. Can’t understand people going around in short-sleeved shirts on a day like this. We’ve no heating, of course, so I’m cold to the bone. But I can do something about that more easily than about days that are too hot and muggy. I’m already dreading them.

Oh, yeah, we’ve had at least some rain every day for the last week. No more, please!

  16. Lis says:

    Fingers crossed for rain soon!
