Rain Day

I told the kids when we came here that they’d get snow days. None of that yet. (WHERE IS MY BLIZZARD?) But yesterday they got a rain day! Rain, rain, rain, and some of the low water bridges in the county were flooded. So! No school! They used the day productively. They slept till noon then ate and played and ate and slept some more.

Luckily, things dried up and today they were off on the bus!

    LOL It’s a very weird winter, isn’t it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Carol says:

    I agree with that Marcy!

  3. Melissa says:

This has been a strange winter. We’ll have 2 or 3 days of 50 degree temps. and then it drops to 30’s. Unusual for RI.

Butterboo e-mailed me and told me he DOES NOT want a blizzard. ๐Ÿ˜†

  4. Suzanne says:

He does too!!!!:hissyfit: Everyone must Think Snow!

  5. Lynn Daniels says:

Your kids should get together and compare productiveness. It’d be a toss-up for the winner.

We rarely get snow days in GA, so I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. But if you’re really jonesin’ to see snow, I’ve got just the site. It’s the town we stayed in when we went to Yellowstone. Want to get jealous?

    Cooke City, MT

  6. Angie says:

Want to talk about some weird winter weather? I am also in GA, Lynn.
Last week we had 38 degree weather, this week 75 degree weather. One day..sunny and warm. Two days later….cold and rainy. I would welcome a little snow if it would only stay cold for an extended period of time. :wall:
Needless to say, I am sick. Forty…I mean, thirty…ok, ok, Forty-five year old women DO NOT get ear infections. :loser: Toddlers get ear infections.
But I cannot get rid of this ear and sinus infection and I blame it on the @#$%*&^, psychotic, schizo weather. :hissyfit:

  7. Jennifer Yates says:

I am in Georgia too…and this odd weather is not fun. The changes in temperature are wreaking havoc on my sinuses. Not to mention the drenching rain we got the last couple of days.

So I say, “Snow? What is that?” :rotfl:

It hasn’t really felt like winter here in GA yet.

  8. Tori Lennox says:

    *snow snow snow*

Better you than me, chickadee. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Jennifer says:

It may not have been snow but at least it was a day off from school.

Next year we will probably be complaining about a freakishly cold winter. ๐Ÿ˜†

  10. catslady says:

Can’t tell one day from the next:no: But I’m on the “no snow” side:wink:

  11. Toni Anderson says:

Please come visit me!!! I have snow and cold!!!!:yes:

  12. catslady says:

I had to get back on to say we are currently getting thunder, lightening, and snow!!!

  13. mary beth says:

LOL! A rain day. Who’d have imagined? Good luck with your blizzard wish. I hope that nasty mess stays FAR away from Wichita Falls.

  14. Fannie M Wiggins says:

I don’t like rain or snow.Period. I have severe arthritis and damp cold weather is painful for me. However, Ilive in NC and they are a natural occuring event. I just keep plenty of hot packs, Icy Hot and Ben Gay around. Then I have to stay at home because I stink to high heaven. It’s a no-win situation. But I will pray for snow just for you, Suz. Hugs.:yuck:

  15. ruby55 says:

Definitely weird winter weather all over. We had January temps and snow in December, now we have rain in Jan. What’s the world coming to. We had some snow today but not more than just to cover things up a little.

I don’t want a blizzard–thank you very much. I’ve experienced too many already. How cold is the coldest it gets there in the mountains? And about what elevation are you at? Why are you so keen on a blizzard anyway? Do you want the kids to be home from school? Or snowed in at school?

My nephew (Georgian Bay area) had an icy roads day this month. He has to be taken about 35 miles to school and picked up again for the last 5+ months of his school year. Normally he’d go to a school about 15 miles from the farm on which he lives but it’s his last year of high school and it was silly to switch him to another school and town where he knows practically nobody except, perhaps, some fellow hockey players.:hyper:

  16. TeresaH says:

I have to agree with the consensus, it’s been a weird winter!
