Check in with Bossy and Oreo–isn’t Oreo growing?! She’s 10 months old now, so she could start cycling at any time. But it’s best not to breed a heifer until around 12-13 months old, so she and her mama are separated to a field to themselves for now. Bossy is already bred, so she doesn’t need to see her boyfriend right now anyway. Quality mother-daughter time!

What beautiful animals, and the names seems to suit them. They remind me of two of my baking essentials, dark cocoa and black cocoa. How lucky you are to have such wonderful animals that you see every, it has been a long road and a lot of hard work, you must sleep well at night because of the satisfaction of where you are now, and because you are probably very tired. You have come a long way.

I had totally forgotten about these two! Your farm has grown so much I can’t keep up. I’m so glad everything is going so well for you. I hope all of your family is doing well too! (we need an update)

We like to wait until they are 15 months and to calve as 2-year-olds.
They are beautiful animals and in great condition.
