Tomato sauce, salsa, spicy tomato juice, corn cob jelly, and pickles! It was a busy weekend! The food strainer got a workout.

Your pantry will be full of wonderful treats for the Winter to come, and it looks like it will be a dilly.

Did your garden produce that bounty of tomatoes and cucumbers or were you able to buy them in bulk? Looks like some good eating in your future.

I hope to be doing this next year. I needed to see what was going on, on my farm land before I started digging stuff up and moving it. Maybe by fall, we will have our garden plotted out and getting ready for next spring. I have horses loose on the property, so I need to surround the garden area in a very secure way and decide how big it needs to be for what I want to plant. This year so far it’s been nice just seeing what we have naturally, or what the previous owner’s put in. (tree wise, I have a um, maybe a huckleberry, and a cherry plum, that I don’t know what to do with…)

ClaudiaL, we had cherry plums here and a friend made jam and said it tasted like pits. My other friend’s dad made wine and it was a little pity also but still good. They are great eating however.
Suzanne, that looks so good. You did put in lots of hours also. I know you and yours will enjoy it this winter.

Suzanne, have you ever canned any peppers in tomato sauce?
