Chickens Don’t Like Snow Dec 26 They hibernated for a few days then gave up and came out. Comments 8 Comments • Comments Feed Log in to Reply Christine says: Mine think snow is nuclear fallout. They’ll stay inside for weeks to avoid it. On December 26, 2009 at 8:00 am Log in to Reply kerri says: That’s a great picture! SO GLAD TO HEAR YOU HAVE COME THROUGH THE WINTER TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS….AT LEAST THE FIRST OF THEM. AND CHRISTMAS WAS EVERYTHING ANYONE COULD HOPE FOR….WARM, WITH FOOD AND WITH FAMILY. YOU ARE BLESSED AS WE ALL ARE. On December 26, 2009 at 9:49 am Log in to Reply NorthCountryGirl says: What’s with the snow? Mine run around on the icy litter with no problem. But, let a little snow fall and they just stand there and look at it?? You’d think it was poison or something! Once in a while, one will get brave and walk out on it but that lasts for about one minute then it’s a race back to the bare spots. My “staff” reacts the same way! Glad to know chickens are just like that. Ours have a little insulated mini coop inside a bigger coop, so I think they feel like they go outside during the day anyway. We have had snow for a while and they are ok with that too. Chicken tracks in the snow are pretty cute. On December 28, 2009 at 9:31 am Log in to Reply lisa b says: poor girls !!!!!
