Today, I’ve got two crock pots going with more liquid soap adventures. This one is cooking with a moisturizing shampoo made with olive oil, castor oil, and lanolin. The other crock pot contains a moisturizing hand soap made with olive oil, castor oil, and jojoba.
I’ve also been conducting color experiments in samples using food dye (which is recommended for liquid soaps) and glycerin for thickening.
Aside from its usefulness in thickening liquid soap (and homemade liquid soap is typically thinner than store-bought soap), glycerin adds moisturizing, mildness, and lathering power.
Will be reporting on all this and more soon!

I use glycerin all the time, though on some it can have a drying effect. Am really interested how your shampoo turns out!

Glycerin is moisturizing. I’ve never heard of it being drying.

Won’t the food coloring cause staining? Love this, how much does it cost to make? Looks like fun either way tho.
