Today, helping friends load hay we sold them, then the trailer broke down so we helped them get hay home. NEXT YEAR AND FOLLOWING THEY USE OUR TRAILER IT IS HEAVY DUTY. Thursday picking blackberries for whatever we want. Last year I sold 12 flats for pies to a restaurant.

Our raspberries are just starting to come on…then it will be time for chokecherries. The best jam I have made in years was a couple of weeks ago using a flat of “Black Velvet” Apricots! Guess they are somewhat new on the market, but they make the most delicious, dark, piquant, floral, full-bodied jam I have known. Got them from our local Costco.

Wish we had wild black raspberries here. I take it they are wild?

I lived up in Oregon about 60 miles SW of Portland, It was on 216 acres back in the 50`s. I picked a lot of wild blackberries, made jam, pies & such, such nice memories you are reminding me of. I love to garden but I’m in a wheel chair now, & I live near Phoenix, Az. & its too hot anyway, oh well such is life. Enjoy every minute of your fantastic lifestyle, it all goes by sooo fast.
