Donkeys in the Fall

I love having Jack and Poky up by the house in the goat yard. I love to watch them throughout the day. Occasionally, Poky gets a burst of youthful energy and she has to run circles around the yard, but for the most part, donkeys are slow and easy. Peaceful. I love so much having the two of them together. They are so attached to each other. We’ll have to move them back to the bottom pastures in the spring for more grass and I will miss having them close by till they come back again in the fall.

And speaking of babies, Poky is very likely bred by now (or long since). We might have a donkey baby by summer…… (I’ll let you know if I catch her knitting booties.)

I have two wonderful miniature donkeys – Jackie Chan and Kiki. Kiki just had a baby last Wednesday. There is nothing like a baby donkey. I don’t know how to post a pic or I would attach one for you.

How exciting…another baby on the farm! Do you think Nutmeg might have babies too?

  3. Joann says:

    Oh, I hope she is!

I just had to look up baby donkey photos. How cute are they!?!?!?! I can’t stand it!

I’ll bet you’ll get the halter on faster with this baby!

LOL! Love Wendy’s comment about the haltering!

I don’t know if your blog can stand any more cuteness. You might have to have a warning at the top of the page for cuteness overload once a baby donkey arrives!

Suzanne I, um….think you might want to consider a name change for your blog.

I am thinking “Baby Farm” or “Maternity Ward” or simply “FERTILE”

And Donkey babies? Like I don’t already faint everytime I see GB.

I just don’t know how you get anything done with all those beautiful beasts! I’d spend all day watching and get nothing done. Don’t know if I could bear to see baby donkey pictures as the adults are just too cute now.

  9. Valerie says:

Donkey babies are SO cute. Our Fannie Banannie is now 5 months old and is adorable. I can’t wait til Poky has a bitty one.

  10. Heather says:

No donkeys at our place but I do enjoy looking looking out my front and back windows and see my happy miniature cows wandering around. Everyone should be able to live with animals around. ESPECIALLY Chickens!

  11. Liesl says:

I hope she is pregnant, imagine how tiny that baby is going to be!
Please post a pic if you catch her knitting!
    xoxo
