Remember BP’s Big Accident last December? She’s had another one, inside the outdoor access stall where the cows’ hay feeder is, and she is down. I am inside the house at the moment trying to get help. Can’t find my hired man, can’t find my neighbors. Just letting you know why you aren’t hearing from me today otherwise. I will update when I can. Please cross fingers for BP that I find help in time. I cannot move a cow by myself, and even Morgan isn’t here this time.

You might want to call the Game Warden Service or whatever they’re called there. They have the means to move large animals. Good luck!

Put hay bales behind her and push her over with the tractor if you can get it to her. She needs to be sat up.

If BP is down and won’t rise but laying like a cow normally would, she should be ok until you can find some help. But if she is out flat or worse upside down, Holstein Woman is right she needs to be rolled and propped up. Given her size I think you could probably do it yourself with ropes and hay bales. Although cows are large and tough on the outside, their internal systems are rather delicate. Being flat out is really hard on their lungs.
Good Luck.

Sending up CowPrayers for BP. Ditto on the keeping her upright. You may have to get down on the ground with her. Put your back against her side and push with your legs to get her setting right. Then use bales to prop her up. Get her some water. I would call the Vet.

Poor BP. And poor Suzanne. You might need to get a pulley put up if she’s near the doorway. I hope she’s ok. You must be frantic. I wish we were closer to help.
