A few chickens got away from me the other day when I was going in to the chicken house to check on their feed and water. The only one happy about this is the goose, who was feeling a mite lonely in the barn yard without them. I’m ordering chicks and ducks in the spring, but meanwhile, I’ll be working on getting these recalcitrant hens back in the house. And working on a chicken yard, so they have some room outside the house. I’m hoping to start that project this weekend, if I can get all my construction supplied lined up by then!

I can’t wait to see the new babies and hope all goes well for the this times. I remember when I was little and we would get baby chicks,I just wanted to watch them for hours, so tiny and fragile.
