Glad to See Mommy

Glory Bee, getting her fair share.

The first time I brought BP in there after locking the baby up, she was so eager for mommy–and so discombobulated by my milking when she wanted to milk, she sucked on BP’s ears, neck, and the top of her head, as if she thought she might get milk to come out of anywhere. Then she figured out that wasn’t happening and she waited quite politely until I was done then enthusiastically (understatement) took every drop that was left!

Welcome to life outside of babyhood, GB. Sometimes ya gotta wait your turn and use your manners.
She’s smart, she’ll get the hang of this new routine and in a few days time, she’ll be an old pro at it.

    so sweet!! Love Glory Bee!!

What a relief for you and what a beauty she is! :moo:

Someone commented yesterday about not encouraging her to head butt you now while you halter train her and teach her to lead and where to find food. They were very very right. Little Glory Bee is cute when she does that, full grown Glory Bee will leave full grown bruises when she follows you around looking for treats and head butting you for attention. It’s like feeding a 1200 lb puppy at the table, NOT a good idea.

She was starving or so she thought. Our horses seem to forget they get fed twice a day.

Did I hear you right? Politely? You said she waited “politely”?!!!
HOO-RAH! It sounds like success to me.

  6. Glenda says:

Just wait………..she will figure out this new thing and she will jump on BP before you get your stool in place! I have to be totally ready to start on my side while the calf sucks on the other…Sometimes he requires a slight nudge (smack) with my hand to keep him from moving to my side!

Still no halter on my calf either.

I adore this picture! Is there any way to get a larger file copy that I could use for my desktop background, if you’d be willing to share? It’s adorable!
