Harvesting Basil

My man got me from the kitchen last night while I was fixing supper to take me outside to the garden and proudly show me that he’d gotten all the tomato plants tied up and he’d weeded the tomato boxes. I looked at the pulled weeds on the ground and said, “Those aren’t weeds….. You harvested the basil that I planted with the tomatoes! I was going to let them get a little bit bigger….. But!”

I know how you feel. Use it up or dry it out and plant more.It grows fast. :hissyfit: My husband used to pull up my beautiful morning glories because he thought they were weeds.

OH NO!!! I a surprised you could’nt smell it. I love growing fresh basil and dill, I love to hang a bunch of fresh dill from my old kitchen cupboard, it reminds me of my Oma’s kitchen when a was a child.

Your man sounds like my man of 54 years! I wouldn’t dare let him weed or use the string trimmer Yours is young enough he may be trainable!

BLESS him at least it was something you can replant and still get a crop. Love your stories.

Bless his heart! I only let my Melvin do watering. It’s safer that way. Keeping the rabbits away is another story!
