We’re home. It was very hard to leave Ross, but today he is on his way to the Navy’s submarine training base in Goose Creek, South Carolina. I should be hearing from him within the next day or two with his new address so I can send him his cell phone! “A school” isn’t boot camp. He can have his cell phone. And cookies!
Everybody’s fine here–and growing! The babies are getting frisky!
P.S. I’ll get back up to speed around here tomorrow, I promise!

You just take your time Momma – I think you have some cookies to make. We’ll be patient. [And the goat-lings are adorable. Yay Clover!]
Take care.

Rest up…we’ll all be here when you’re ready! My son’s graduation in Goose Creek began my love affair with Charleston! What a grand old city that is. Carriage rides, street markets, rainbow houses and GHOST WALKS…oh yeah, and Palmetto bugs or as they are known there, Carolina skateboards…I just call them BIG ARSE COCKROACHES!!! lol :dancingmonster:

Many, many moons ago, I went to boot camp graduation in Waukegan, Illinois (the graduation was outside though). I lived in Goose Creek for about 1 1/2 years too but we left in 1987. Very pretty area. You’ll have to visit the old, open, slave market in downtown Charleston – the vendors sell all kinds of things. And the Palmetto bugs ARE huge – you can throw a saddle on some of them.

Looks like all the fur and feathered babies did well in your absence (good caretaker while you were gone) I’m sure they missed you lots too!
Get rested up, make cookies, relax, we’ll be here…

Welcome home. When Ross has time, ask him to enroll at Soldiers Angels: https://soldiersangels.org/join-or-adopt.html I’m a volunteer on the Soldiers Angels Baking Team. I send letters and care packages to “my troops” every month. This is a great morale booster for our men/women in uniform!
