She is so adorable! I just love how her facial markings are maturing.

  2. Valerie says:

Just darling, what a face. :cowsleep:

  3. Dianna says:

Click her “hooves” and make it happen?!

At least she only has one day to wait!

  4. Glenda says:

When I see GB, I think of about 1.5 years or more from now when you will be breaking her to milk!!! Now that will be fun………….

I think about having a second cow…my thoughts always turn to those beautiful Jersey girls and when I see one that is a first calf heifer….I move on. I am too old for that routine.

  5. Window On The Prairie says:

Good gracious, when is this oversized baby going to be weaned anyway? :sun:

    Sweetest little stout face…

  10. Joy (from Illinois) says:

What a cutie! Such beautiful eyes. Just how long do calves nurse anyway? On a dairy farm where I was raised, we wanted our milk as soon as possible. I guess there is no reason to wean a calf early if you don’t need the milk…or is there? It took a while to “tame” the savage calf  cause you were a little late getting her haltered. (I’m sure you never want to go through that mistake again, Suzanne.) Are there any behavioral or nutritional issues in weaning a calf by a certain age?

  11. Miss Becky says:

even her head is getting bigger. but she’s still adorable. I love that white around her eyes and nose. :airkiss: :airkiss: :airkiss:

  12. Chickenlady62 says:

I guess we all think alike. We all love her little face !
I love the white around her eyes and the tan of her face . If they just stay “little” I’d be alset! maybe I’ll have to get me one of those mini dwarf sized cows….. That is more my speed :cowsleep:

  13. Kris Sherrill says:

She is probably nearly as big as her mommy by now. She is beautiful. What will you do with all that milk when you have 2? You will have to open up a dairy.

My 1st time heifer, Mazie, just had a bull calf Sat. morning. I have tried to milk her some but that calf is greedy! So I will wait for now. In the meantime I have to get milk from my friend until my goats have their kids in a few weeks. The countdown begins!!

  14. lilac wolf says:

You went and spoiled her during that muddy weather.

  15. Carmen at Old House Kitchen says:

Our 2 year old (almost 3) saw her picture and said “Aaawwww!”. “She is so pretty.” She’s right! That little cow is adorable! Love those eyes!

  16. beverly says:

    poor thing 😥

  17. Window On The Prairie says:

Just out of curiosity I looked on a couple of Ag Dairy websites to find out when dairy calves can be weaned, and they said about 8 weeks. I do know from having cattle ourselves that they would nurse forever if given the chance – they don’t wean themselves. I’ve heard of full size adult calves nursing.
    :moo:

  18. Kathryn says:

Random and not wholly unconnected, I absolutely love your blog. And when your ready for farm stays and I can afford to visit, I’ll be there with bells on. Or at least good sturdy boots. Do you think I could milk Clover? If I give her a cookie maybe?

Thanks for doing what you do and bringing a smile to my face everyday.

    :dancingmonster:

P.S. I just think the monster is so cute.

  19. ann/alba says:

That cow has without a doubt one of the more gorgeous faces I have ever seen on an animal.
