See that little knob way back in there between the hay bales in the center of the picture? Yeah. That’s the knob for the water hose that I use to fill up the buckets in the goat yard….

Your hose must freeze up at times in the winter. Don’t know how much of the winter you are below freezng.
When I was kid, during the winter months we would bring the hose into the heated milkhouse. That was my daily chore to drag the hose in and out to give water to the calves.

At least you have a hose………I remember hauling water by the 5 gallon buckets full all the way out to the barn. But at least we could put 4 of them on the sled and walk it back, didn’t have to lug it!

What a great hidee-hole. Next time you play hide and seek I bet that would be a good place to hide. I think Boomer would find you, though.

My hose is hooked to the cellar wall. Needless to say, I will soon have to put it away for the winter and start lugging buckets of water out to the chicken coop. Bummer!

I used to have to make sure the hose was drained every night in the winter after watering the pigs. I hated it–my fingers froze and got muddy. But boy was there trouble if we ‘forgot!’

Well, I must admit that there are much more fun ways to get ‘hay hair’ than finding the water tap. (yep, grew up on a farm! ๐ )
