I’m not sure Casper actually misses Boomer–because he and Boomer didn’t get along very well. Boomer didn’t like him. But he loves Coco, as does every dog at the farm. Coco’s been in the goat yard, and it might be hard to tell in the photo, but there is a fence between them as they nap (almost) side by side.

I’m sorry you lost your Boomer, that is a bummer. He brought a kind of different life to things in the stories.

In the den together– but not. Sounds like it describes not only this picture but also their relationship!

I am sorry you have lost Boomer, that is always hard. He was a real character. Casper and Coco will carry on and give you many more years of funny stories…. our animals are wonderful additions to enrich our lives, as we hopefully enrich theirs. Cheers, Boomer!

Great picture. I’m sure Boomer is missed by ALL the creatures on your farm. (((Hugs)))

I think it’s so much more difficult to accept a pet’s demise when one does not know for sure what happened. Our old yellow lab, Yeller (what else?) disappeared three years ago…. no trace was ever found. And we had him for years and years. sigh.

I am so sorry about your little dog. It makes really hard when you don’t know what happen to them. But may he is just fooling around looking for a girlfriend. have a nice day. Kay

:cowsleep: At the risk of sounding philosophical, this reminds me of the Robert Frost poem about good fences making good neighbors….in this case good friends like a good fence sometimes. :snuggle:

    Ellen, that says it all!!!

We also had a great dog many years ago who went out into the woods for a run and never came back. It’s so hard when it happens that way. (((((suzanne)))))

I still have some hope that Boomer will return. it’s that time of year when pets/animals roam and pick up scents that aren’t there during the winter months. sometimes they wander farther than the last time they wandered out, and they get mixed up and distracted. It’s a slim chance, but hey, it’s been known to happen. not knowing for certain is hard, so that keeps hope alive. and hope is everything. but when you love an animal and they are gone and there isn’t an answer as to where they are and what’s become of them, the heart needs to heal and close the curtain. miracles do happen though. each and every day. in the meantime, Coco and Casper are holding down the fort and keeping each other company! :airkiss:
