We’re becoming friends.

I say that as if I know it, and I don’t. He might take me down with his steely beak tomorrow. But last night? He let me walk by him and he didn’t attack me. And I was brave enough to walk by him without my rooster rake.

We are making progress, Mean Rooster and I.

  1. Shelly says:

He looks well fed, maybe he can’t move as fast to get you! :hungry:

  2. Sheila Z says:

It’s fall, testosterone levels are down and Mean Rooster is a bit more mellow. The mean may come back in full force next spring unless he is unseated by some young rooster that takes him down a peg or two in the pecking order.

  3. Queenbuffness says:

LOL! You have a rooster rake? I use a “rotten-rooster-stick”!!!

  4. Tracey In Paradise Pa. says:

thats funny..maybe thats why my two new Partridge Rocks attacked me when I went to feed them lastnight. They were supposed to be hens..lol..

  5. Leah says:

In this picture he looks as though he’s gained weight.Maybe thats why he didnt attack you,cuz he’s getting fat and lazy! :snoopy:

  6. ALICIA says:

    He’s a handsome one!!! :chicken:

  7. Vera says:

I love mean rooster pictures and I voted again today.
sure hope you get the job.

  8. Joycee says:

Suzanne, you must watch The Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan on TLC and apply his principles to Mean Rooster!

  9. shirley says:

    He’s beautiful

  10. Valerie says:

Actually, he looks a little mellower today. Not as mean an expression on his face. Maybe he made whoopee with one of the chickens yesterday?

  11. Claudia says:

Maybe the hens have been nicer to him lately!!! I visit your site everyday and I am happy to vote everyday…. I want you to get that job!

  12. BuckeyeGirl says:

Good for you! And good for Mean Rooster since his blood pressure must be better!

I wish I could make a puzzle with that pic, I understand why you protect your pictures, they definately deserve to be protected, but I keep thinking what good puzzles your pictures make. I actually still have some but stopped doing it when you tightened security on your pics. :jackolantern:

  13. Chic says:

I agree with Joycee…Ceasar from The Dog Whisperer could probably teach you a few things. Maybe you went out there standing tall and looked like you were the boss and he ‘felt’ it….I bet that’s it! Ya. Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful sunny warm day on your farm today….ENJOY! :hungry2: (pitchfork!)

  14. Mariah says:

Is it my imagination or does Mean Rooster look like he’s gaining a little weight? Maybe he’s getting fat and happy. (Let’s hope!)

  15. Helen says:

I had a rooster like Mean Rooster once, and one time, when he attacked me, I took off my flip-flop and smacked him up-side the head with it. He came at me again, and I smacked him again, and then he tried one more time and I let him have it one more time. After that he let me alone. I guess I taught him that I am bigger and even meaner than he is.

  16. Angela says:

:snoopy: I am so proud of you Suzanne! That is true progress and you faced your fear of the Rooster….Way to go!

  17. B.Ruth says:

Welllll, Mean Rooster aka Sweet Cheeks, etc.etc. etc….

He is actually pondering….! Roosters ponder a lot this time of year…whilst they rest more til Spring!
What you may ask is he pondering…?
    Well,it this:
If chickens are crossing the road is that considered….
    “Poultry in motion”….?
    What do you think Suzanne?
