This is one of my favorite fall places–right outside the goat yard. I love the combination of blues and greens, yellows and reds, all in one view.
The next couple weeks are going to be full of “wow” around here. Fall is amazing.

It is a beautiful spot.
We are just beginning to get good color here. I think fall is my favorite time of year….not so busy and more time to enjoy the beauty around us.

This region of NC has mostly pines and so I miss out on the beauty of fall. (However, I DO NOT miss the snow!)
I lived in CT up until 4 years ago where the fall colors burst!
I miss the great smell of drying leaves and the amazing color palette!
Enjoy the fall show!

There is nothing quite like autumn in the country, is there? I feel my heart rate lower just looking at your picture.
Your blog is lovely!

I envy you. I grew up in MA, (CapeCod), and my granfdparents lived in VT, so I got to enjoy all the variations that fall could bring. Now I’m in CA, and a few leaves fall. 🙁

It sure is beautiful. The rockies here in Colorado have some awsome colors also. Makes me wish that fall would last longer then it does. My parents use to live in northern Arkansas. Loved being there in the fall.

I would love that view too. here in Wisconsin it has been so dry that the leaves are falling without coloring. there is an occasional flaming maple but for the most part, it isn’t a fantastic fall color year…at least so far.

That is beautiful. I can see why it’s your favorite spot.
The only thing that bothers me about “wow” is that it is soon followed by “white”!

I live among sycamores and poplars, but here the leaves just turn brown and drop. It’s in the 90’s this week. Maybe not cold enough. Ya think?

Your son, Ross, will miss that so much this year. I live in Charleston, SC and I’m originally from Kentucky. I miss fall so very much here. It goes from green, green, green to brown and the trees just lose their leaves…they don’t change to the vibrant colors. Once a year I take a weekend trip to Tennessee and North Carolina to be able to see autumn in all it’s glory.

Suzanne–was the top photo the tree you cut down to get a better view of the hills when you first built the farm house? The colors are so beautiful, no artist could ever do in a million years what Mother nature can do overnight.
I also wanted to tell you ,as I was not able to leave a post at that blog, I printed off the sustitution list, since my cabinet doors have glass, I put it in a pretty country blue frame and hung it on the wall beneath my cabinets above the counter, I will never have to look for it when I need it. In our other home I had a piece of cork inside the cabinet door and could tack what I needed to inside there.
Your view is lovely, the woods behind our home is changing very quickly, I love sitting on the porch in the morning and looking, listening and that smelling that wonderful smell that fall brings.
Every day it is different, and beautiful.
Thank you.

We had a long drive this past weekend (Buffalo to NYC and back) and the colors were beautiful. If the darn team bus we were following to NYC wasn’t going so stinking fast we would have enjoyed it a lot more. We didn’t follow the bus back home and really appreciated the vibrant colors especially in the Hudson Valley area. Made us plan to take a vacation in Sleepy Hollow sometime. Yes, that Sleepy Hallow, but I’m pretty sure it’s all shopping malls and parking lots now.
My husband even remarked that as much as we complain about the taxes in our state, it’s the autumn season that makes him stay. If he sees your pictures, he may change his mind. Particularly if you have a winter like last year. He loves the cold and snow, believe it or not.

What a gorgeous spot you have to enjoy the beauty of fall, Suzanne. Last week I was in Pennsylvania and saw the Alleghany and Blue Ridge Mountains and their spectacular color palette. OMG, how awesome that was!
