One Day Old

Nutmeg’s baby, all dried up and pretty today.

I’m holding him a little bit every time I go in there so he will make a sweet pet. He already comes to me.

(Halfway managing to take a picture of myself.)

Everybody’s fascinated with WHAT is going on in the closed-up goat house.

Especially papa.

Even Glory Bee wants to see!

But for now, he only has me and mommy and–

–the chickens.

And that’s probably for the best because I don’t know what’s going to happen when he gets out of there and calls her–

–Granny Nanny!

  4. joycee says:

it depends on if she’s been looking forward to being a “Granny Nanny!” I’m a granny who’s called Nanny and I LOVE it!

  5. katherine jenson says:

:happyflower: :clover: :snoopy: Granny Nanny….now that is just too funny! What a sweet little baby goat…..they are just too much aren’t they! I do believe I see a baby cookie monster in the making! lol, lol

  6. Marianne G says:

  7. Tracey In Paradise Pa. says:

    :woof: IM IN LOVE!!

  8. Teri says:

You’re making me want another baby or two! Two of my nubians were babies when I got them. Cocoa was only a month old and we bottle-fed him so he’s so sweet and gentle. I’ve found all boys are (they’re all wethers). Two of mine are pygmies and three are nubians and Bubba, well, we’re not sure what he is! He’s part pygmy and we think buffalo (just kidding). Someone came to our place and wanted to know where we got a mini buffalo and they were serious – he was not amused! Can I blame you when my husband gives me the look when I start talking baby goats again? :snoopy:

AWWW!! I’d have a hard time putting that cutie patootie down. I am quite envious, not in a bad way of course. I know farming is not easy, but just look at the rewards!

  15. Jan says:

Nothing cuter than a baby goat!

  16. bonita says:

Those are really pretty markings on the face, but those ears, oh those ears…”All the better to hear you”?

  17. Nancy in Iowa says:

What an absolute doll! If Clover objects to being called Granny Nanny, tell her to call me. I was hoping little grandson Henry would call me Granny Nanny, but I was just with him for about 6 days before he turned 1, and he wasn’t calling me anything yet! :happyflower:

  18. Rose H says:

What a cute little guy – I think I’m in love

  19. Dianna says:

Granny Nanny is cute! When my son was very young, we took trips to a petting farm (Bluebird Gap Farm), and the baby goats were our very favorites!

  20. Linda Segerson says:

He is soooooo stinkin cute, I want him! :snoopy:

  21. VaGirl2 says:

If papa is Mr. Pibb…then maybe the baby can be named Dr. Pepper. Hehee…very cute. Congratulations to everyone!

  22. Carmen at Old House Kitchen says:

Soooo cute! There were lots of “awww”s coming from the kiddos!

  23. Sheila Z says:

Granny Clover is going to love him. Just watch out Clover doesn’t declare Nutmeg an unfit mother just so she can steal the kid.

  24. LisaAJB says:

I thought sailor was cute, but he takes the cake. Cutest goat ever.

  25. Deb says:

    Very Cute!!! :snoopy:

  26. Kelly A says:

I still vote Pepper as his name!! He is adorable!

  27. Christine says:

Aww, he’s going to look just like one of my wethers, Luke. Is it warm enough in WV for him this time of year? We’re freezing here in Indy.

  28. Judy says:

Gotta love baby goats! he or she is so beautiful.

  29. Ann says:

What a wee gem… Congratulations I want to cuddle too.

  30. Kathie says:

    Soooo cute. Made me smile.

  31. Elaine Harrison says:

He is just gorgeous!!! I love goats! :snoopy:

  32. lizzie says:

So very precious!!!! I want him!!!! love his colors, will Mama keep him warm?

  33. Shelly Messier says:

Frosty is a cute name. He was born in the snow and he has frosty coloring on his ears. Just a thought. :fairy:

  34. Merlin says:

The markings on the top of his head looks like what a badger would look like (I think – I could be wrong), so maybe you can call him Badger? He’s sooooooooo cute!!!

  35. Jackie Georgiou says:

My husband insists that I tell you that he thinks the name should be Dr. Pepper. There, I told you, now he can leave me alone! Ha ha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  36. Senta Sandberg says:

He reminds me of Honey his long lost Uncle. I bet he turns out just as sweet. There were two goats in the paper to give away today. I so wish.

  37. Melissa says:

Look at his cute little nubbins on the top of his head.
This poor little guy was born the other day in Colorado but only lived a couple of minutes. https://www.lajuntatribunedemocrat.com/features/x493325799/Siamese-lamb-born-in-Swink

I’m so glad everything went okay with Nutmeg & her baby.

  38. Darlene in North Ga says:

Yup, I think you’re right. I can see the “twitch” in her eye even as we speak! Granny Nanny is a young swinging thing who does NOT want to be referred to as Granny, Nanny nor any other derivative of Grandma! She is to be called CLOVER by one and all. And it is to be “Queen Clover” from the Woman.

  39. Lisa says:

    I LOVE baby goats..

  40. Pam says:

He is so adorable! Cuddle him while he’ll let you.

  41. holstein woman says:

Well Mr Cutie blew my thoery. He is not exactly colored like Mr Pibb. BBBBUUUUUTTTTT, if I could get my hands on him and love him too. I don’t have any idea how cute heck is but, he takes the cake.

I can see everybody is in love!!! See GB another one just like you (a baby).

  42. Jen M. in VA says:

He is just the cutest! I don’t know how you put him down. I would be cuddling him all the time. Tell Clover there is nothing wrong with being a “Grand” mother.

  43. Miss Becky says:

oh, he’s adorable. Not the color I thought he would be, from the video, but man, he’s a beautiful baby. I love that color on his ears. He has a really cute face.

  44. Lynne says:

Miss Becky, he’s not the color I thought he was either! Wow, he is just too cute!!

  45. Joy says:

Love his black stockings. What interesting coloration and, like all babies, really cute.

  46. Ramona says:

Soooooo cute! What a beautiful baby.

  47. Patchkat ~ Susan in TX says:

What a beautiful baby!!! Nutmeg must be so proud ๐Ÿ™‚ I can see a little “rascal” in him already!

  48. judyh says:

He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute. I’d love to hold him. I think I’d want to take him inside and rock him and feed him a bottle if I had him. Of course, Mama would have to go along too to ensure her that he is safe. Maybe she’d like watching tv or just hangin’ out for a while. She has to be proud!

  49. Tina says:

Cute, cute, cute. Give him a squeeze for me, too! That last picture, the one of Clover, is the best thing I’ve EVER seen. Her face is just priceless!

  50. Wanda Devers says:

That baby is so sweet. I’m glad you’ll be able to keep him for a pet.
