Over the Moon

I called Morgan downstairs this afternoon and got to say, “Morgan, YOU HAVE A HORSE!”

She is over the moon. We have been approved to bring Patriot home. It will be a few weeks still as I complete fencing repairs to the horse field, but she already has her saddle picked out.

Meanwhile, Dave and Matt were here today in advance of beginning work on the studio Monday. Don’t miss Monday here because I have a very special something in which I want you all to participate!

P.S. Visit the Heart of Phoenix Equine Rescue here.

Glad for the sunshine of your new life to shine so brightly on Morgan, too.
Her chance to be over the moon came because she has a strong momma.

Yee Haw! Congratulations, Morgan! He is a lucky guy to be coming to such a beautiful farm and a happy young lady. I know he will be very well cared for and probably just a little bit spoiled too?

  13. boulderneigh says:

    Yippee!!!

  14. gingergoat says:

I used to have a horse but I got too old and she went to a ranch with other horses and now she is a mommy. I just love the smell of a horse. Is that weird?

  15. gingergoat says:

P.s. so happy for you and Morgan. Happy for patriot too.

  16. JerseyMom says:

Wooooooohoooooo!! Yay Morgan! I’m so happy for you and even more, for Patriot!! He needs a girl to love him and you are exactly the right one!!! Yay!!! My boys, Gabe and Tate, will be clapping their hooves when I tell them. Once again….YAY!!!

  17. holstein woman says:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I know you all will be very happy together.

You two make me want a horse and I have been mortified of them for lots of years. My donkey will have to do though. I should get one anyway with the new 56 acres we signed papers on today. We bought the farm!

  18. liz2 says:

Oh, Morgan! This is wonderful news for you & Patriot.

  19. JerseyMom says:

holstein woman….a horse is about the same as your donkey…but maybe (shhhh don’t tell them…) maybe not so smart! don’t be scared about horses….they would LOVE your acres!! it’s my dream to have enough room someday to be a rescue!! If I had 56 acres there’d be a bunch of older horses eating the grass there ~ in a comfy retirement!! I wouldn’t ride them, except if it was safe for them and just once in a while. They’d just be big lawnmowers!

  20. angiemay says:

    What wonderful news!!!!

  21. Dogfarm says:

    Oh Joy!!!!! :snoopy:

  22. Cheryl LeMay says:

  27. willsahna says:

I was a horse crazy girl too, and I remember how excited I was when I got my horse. So happy for Morgan. I love the way horses smell and how the barn smells when it has a horse and horse stuff in it.

  28. Rose H says:

I cannot put into words how pleased I am that Patriot has found his forever home to be loved by both you and Morgan. :woof: :sheepjump:

  29. Diane says:

Congrats!!!! That is great news!! I did hear about those horses being rescued in 2011. Wonderful to hear about one finding a wonderful home.

  30. D1BeachBum says:

  31. FreedomValleyFarm says:

He seems so wonderful. That’s a great rescue story. I can’t wait to hear all the details.

  32. quinn says:

Congrats! Are you going to adopt a companion horse as well? I’ve found horses are always much more comfortable and happier with another horse. Not even another riding horse – could be just a retired buddy. Just sayin’! 😉

  33. Remudamom says:

Horses can be very happy with donkeys or goats for companions.

  34. cabynfevr says:

    Congratulations Morgan!! :fairy:

  35. Miss Judy says:

My grandson got his first horse when he was only 5. He was an old horse and just right for him. Tommy was a horse no one wanted except one small boy.It was love at first sight and it lasted :-).
    So happy for Morgan.

  36. morningstar says:

Wonderful news and I too can not wait to hear all about the homecomming, and future stories there will be. Now you will have to get a horse for yourself Suzanne I am sure Morgan will give you lessons, How lovely it would be to ride round your farm together.

Congratulations and your new farm Holstein Woman. You must be so excited also.

  37. Goodnewsfarm says:

Goats make excellent companionions. Many racehorses have goats as companions as well as Dairy cows! Good luck on your new horse!

  38. Jess says:

    Congratulations.

  39. lamsmom says:

yay morgan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i’m so happy for you! my 13yo, lauren, is trying out for her third year of cheer. moving from one of two jr highs to the high school also means that 16 current cheerleaders won’t have a spot next year… i’m hoping (and praying) that she does well… but am thinking that a horse may ease some of the heartache if it doesn’t work out. we currently don’t have enough hours in the day to include one. no cheer would free up a lot. :happybutterfly:
