I picked all the petals off my birthday rose bush to infuse for rose petal jelly! (See how to make rose petal jelly and jellies from other flowers and also herbs here.)
I’ve never tried rose petal jelly before, so I can’t wait to see how it tastes! I saved the rose petal infusion, along with the dandelion and violet infusions I made earlier, in the freezer and will be canning them when I get back from my trip. I know that I already love rose petal jelly simply because rose petals are SO MUCH EASIER TO PICK.

I hope the rose bush didn’t have residual chemicals infused in the petals….better safe than sorry….

I just made dandelion jelly and violet jam. The dandelion jelly is a lot like honey, and the violet jam was wonderful! I posted about both on my blog.

Unless it is declared organic don’t eat roses that come from a greenhouse. The chemical cocktails used on roses not grown organically can be sickening.
