It’s downright chilly today, wet and a little gray. After this summer’s heat, I don’t really mind. Not saying I’m ready for snow yet, mind you. But. It’s not 90, and I like that. Still, it’s a little cold in the house. I started my first fire in the wood stove today. Tomorrow, it’s supposed to start warming up again and should be a nice weekend, so the fire won’t be going non-stop just yet, though as the weeks tumble over one another, winter is just a homemade firestarter away.
This year, as every year, I am more ready than the last. I know how to start fires now, and keep them going. Also new this year, we won’t have to worry about running out of milk, butter, eggs, or cheese when we’re snowed in. I have a cow. And that’s very nice to know.
